problem with a deal

hey guys,

lets just say if i was selling something and my buyer gave me a Down payment, but after the first week, wasnt able to pick up the item and pay the balance, and offers to send the money, i'm even working on ways to deliver the engine no charge !!!!

anyways... 4 days hav past since he said he'd wire me the money, and i donno now? he hasnt returned my calls, of checked his mail (PM's) so i wonder now?

guy seems really cool, but what am i gonna do, i really needed the income from this deal to fix my car, which is going in the shop today and i donno how i'm paying for it if he doesnt send me the balance.

if he backs out i'll have to refund his DP and then sell the item for alot less just to get cash...

what should i do...... its like the guy is ignoring me or he dropped of the face of the planet!!!!

Let the guy know if he doesnt pay for the item asap, you are selling the item to someone else, and keeping the deposit to make up the money you lost. The point of a deposit is twofold, for the seller to guarantee the item will be held for an agreed amount of time, and to gaurantee the seller doesnt get screwed by taking his item off the market.

I'm with Eric on this...

If the guy doesn't respond to your efforts to resolve the matter, then its his fault for back peddling. Re-list it and get it sold to someone else.

I agree with the others. The point of a deposit is so they don't back out and leave you stuck. If you want to be really nice you could refund his deposit after you resell the item but that is totally up to you.

Re: problem with a deal

sup guys,

i emailed the buyer, told him that i'm not gonna keep trying to get a hold of him anymore, explained why and if he wants this item... then he's gotta come around otherwise this deal will fall apart.

buyer seemed to be a a stand up guy, and i think he is too, but i was under the inpression that he was going to send the money i told him why i need to sell the item because my car needs some work done at APE and i have already dropped it off and there is a bill for around 1,000.00 waiting for me at the end of this week.

i had already done some stuff with APE 3 weeks ago so i owe them money, this guy sends me a DP from the item and doesnt follow through..

i donno .... dont want to take this guys cash, but if he doesnt call back ?

whats fair?

a deposit is just that... you don't refund those. that is unless it was something say overnight and you felt kind enough to do so. i've had cars that i've sold where someone dropped off a $500 deposit and disappeared. it happens.

Hmmm, might look good in a polo green metallic Z28 that I know of...maybe, just maybe we could spend some time doing a swap when I get up there. What were you trying to sell it to this guy for? What all did you throw in this thing? Its a 355 right?
