Hey Chris,
The following is a link to the car I am working on picking up. The Tq numbers seem a little low. My 98 had 410Tq at the rears. Of course this is on a stock converter compared to my 3600 stall.
So, tell me what you think of this car?

Thanks,
Bill

That formula is up by me in NW Waterford twp. It was out on Clintonville rd. a couple weeks ago. It has tops and leather, chrome firehawk rims, and the ram air Raptor hood looked pretty good. Tires are week, Kuhmos front and drag radials rear. Also has an aftermarket cd in dash unit. He was asking $13500 then, so the price is coming down. I was wondering if there is something he is not disclosing like nitrous usage. You really dont need a Moser rear end with a cam only car.
That Camaro SS sounds nice with only 8500 miles, this car was probably beat on.

I saw a for sale post on motown muscle for it.
I understand being leery about nitrous usage; but its almost cheap enough that is a motor had to be put it in, it wouldn't matter.
also, I saw a motor torn apart at ape that came out of a vette that looked great that had been a heads cam/ spray car.
and had a lot more miles than that.

hey bill. finallly got home to see the post. that car looks great in the pics. if the mi.s are accurate, the car should look brand new still Id think. with the upgrades that car has, Id be wiling to bet that it is a very nice car indeed since it takes quite a bit of money to take a brand new car , not drive it much, and invest about 10K into it w/in a few years of buying it. even if the car was put through its paces often, those LS1's can take a beating. pay special attention to the shifts on that trans, and def. look at the condition of the fluid. ask if it has been changed. if all's been good, there's no reason why he would have changed it yet. that kind of power through a stock trans might not last too long if you drive it like I know you will. so be ready to sink about $900 into a trans some day. thats about what it would cost if I did the r&r and had the tranny guy I know build it. he did whiplash's for I think just under $800 or so.
the power #s seem right for the mods. my friend ryans 99 formula that I put the P1SC in and hot cam w/mac headers put down 480HP and 434TQ. first mod has to be a mild stall conv.. you dont want a big conv. behind all the torque of a supercharger. best bet would be to take the dyno sheet and call a conv. company for a recommendation. that car with some sticky tires should get high 11's Id think. stick a convertor in it and should go mid11s easy (with traction ofcourse).
dont forget I can install a supercharger in any LS1 car for ya if you wanted to try and spend less money. you prolly wont get all that much out of the stereo system if you do sell it. that camaro on this board sounds like it might be a good deal too. def. worth checking into. when are you plannin on driveing down to st louis to look at the supercharged car?

Hey how much does it cost to convert to an automatic from a manual? How much is involved?
Chris, keep your eye out at your dealership for a nice LS1 with an auto, hoping low miles.
Thanks,
Bill
damn that sucks. wasnt that the first thing you asked the guy when you talked to him?
for a swap, depends on what you want. if you wanted an older/cheaper/stronger trans like a th350 or th400, then you'd need a custom length driveshaft, custom mount for the torque arm, crossmember, trans, conv., flexplate, shifter assembly, and a custom program for the pcm. its rather expensive. my 95 was a manual orig., and kelly didnt want to keep it because of that. so I converted it to auto just for that reason. I sold the man. for about 1200 and spent that money to make it auto just about. if the car was cheaper, maybe I could see doin it, but Id just keep looking if I was you. there are plenty of nice auto's out there, anc chances are they were treated nicer then most sticks.

1100 miles!
damn, you sure are enjoying that thing. cool to hear. looks like I have another cam/headers job lined up on an 01 real soon. that should help take the edge off the money I want to spend on my short block. are you ready to bolt on my ET streets yet? see what that car can really do?
