The official "Day After the Bonfire" thread
For those of you that didn't make it... here's a bit of a rundown of what you missed. Pics will be forthcoming.
Two grills, loaded with burgers, dogs, brats and polish sausage
A line of F Bodies rivaling a used car lot, highlighted by Beccas 35th Anniversary SS that everyone drooled over. Oh, and a slcik looking ghost flamed T/A pulling a trailer that had everyone scratching their heads at first
Don't worry RoadRage, we won't tease ya too much about that
During the daylight we talked cars and talked crap, the kids had an Easter egg hunt, and we all filled our bellies with the grilled food and liquid refreshments of varying degrees of distillment (is that a word?)
Frisbees were tossed, the kids tried some baseball and the go kart made LOTS of laps around the field.
Trey and Robvas successfully carpooled with no blood on the interior of the truck when they arrived...though there was a strange white "goo" in the bed of the truck that they claimed was conditioner (yeah right)
As dusk came, everyone tried to figure out why I was "caulking the woodpile"... little Mikey has a secret firestarter tip for ya... Liquid Nail... Now don't go telling everyone about that!
A quick touch of the torch and we had a fire in short order. Well, maybe in TALL order. I think the flames were topping the 20 foot mark
which later on proved to be more than the neighbors were comfortable with, as someone called the fire department.
The first responded who showed up didn't think it was too big of a deal. He radioed back and let the chief know it was a controlled fire in a mowed area. The chief still wanted to come check it out. Apparently, according to the chief, we broke pretty much every state and township code governing fires... LOL
According to state law,you can't burn building materials. Also, you can't burn after dark. You can have a campfire, but only 3 feet in diameter. You can burn brush during the day if you have a way to control the fire, and even then only a 5' x 8' area. Our fire was about 20'-30' in diameter. The chief was a little grumpy at first, but he calmed down a bit and even started telling us some stories of other fires he's been too and such. He didn't fine us, but they emptied their 220 Gallon tote full of water on it to the boos and hollering of the party goers further away...
The water didn't come close to actually putting the fire out, but it did take a little of the heat out of and toned it down a bit. Probably a good thing in the end because we would have had hot coals for a week. Not to mention it brought it down to a reasonable marshmallow roasting level.
As the evening wore on, we were all feeling pretty good, and had a harder and harder time rememebring that there were kids around LOL
Purple Haze Becca showed us how she could make the better part of a wine cooler bottle disappear
(you'll have to ask her about it - wish we had a camera at that moment)
The drunks made a LOT more laps in the go kart in total darkness...which went better then expected til Duke got in...
I think we gave him a 9.6 for the flip....
That's ok though...as a reward all the guys washed his suburban for him (about 8 ounces at a time) LOL
Trey was in a scrappy mood, I think he wounded Robvas. Neither one got thrown into the fire, but they both came pretty close rolling around on the ground like that...
The fire eventually wound down and people trickled out around midnight or so... I could barely walk by then so I wasn't counting. Damn Adam for bringing that big bottle of Jim Beam over...
I think everyone showed that said they were going to... Except Jon (Yomama). What happened there man? A couple people got lost on the way, and one tried to blame me for bad directions, even though everyone else made it just fine!
Besides, look back at the MAP And tell me if there was something wrong
Hopefully everyone made it home ok. I am gonna grab a shower and then head back out there to do cleanup. Pics will be posted later. Anyone who has some stories or pics from last night, share them here

FIRE ****'S!!!!!!!!!!! At least they reduced the fire to the point of getting close enough to make smores. Even then I singed my eyebrows in the quest to make a campfire - wait make that inferno - treat. Didn't even use any of the logs that I donated - but there's always another party Mike
At least those would have been fire **** legal! Man that poor go-kart - did anybody add oil to it after it started smoking? My wife and I had a great time and made some new friends.
