You might want to give some reasons...from personal experience maybe?

All these choices. Is there any particular reason I should go with one or the other? Anyone specialize in these cars like APE did? I know it's just lcarb's which really isn't hard to do but it would be nice to know they've done it before.

I took my car to aggressive before to have some parts installed like a cam, headers, subframes and traction bars. It took them over a month to install these items when I was promised 3-4 days. When I went to pick up my car the bill was doubled on the price they gave me. Stuff went bad and they replaced it without notifying me. I'm not saying there a bad place. They did good work on my car. They just seem to have more work they what they can handle. I could never get a hold of that place when I called. I took my car to wheel to wheel powertrain. They do very good work there. They should not charge you that much for that job. - mike

I wouldn't let aggressive change the oil in my car. THey had my car for almost an entire year for a trans rebuild, that was still never fixed, and i was out the money.. when i asked why it took so long the response was.. "We work on it every free chance we get" lol

Yeah I really had enough of these small performance shops. Thats why I'm taking my car to wheel 2 wheel powertrain from Now on. Wheel to wheel might be more expensive but atleast you know your car is with the best. No place should need over a months time to install a cam, headers, weld subframes and traction bars.

Re: Now that APE is gone, who to install lca relocation brakets?

My experience: I had a hot cam installed in my LT1 at Aggressive after hearing good things about him. I checked out W2W and Livernois as well. Aggessive did a great job, it took 3 days and answered all my questions. The down side is the shop is a mess and Bruce can be a little hard to get a hold of at times. He quoted me $650 and the cost was $792, I was not notified of the increase until the car was done but he had good reasons for the increase so all in all a good expereince and would recommend them. The reason I did not use W2W and Livernois was cost. W2W qouted me $2250 (yes, for a cam install) and Livernois was $1250. I have heard great things about all these shops just could not justify the cost.

W2W probaly included porting your heads also in that price. I dont beleive they would charge $2250 just to install a cam. I gurantee you call them again the price would be much much cheaper. Livernois on the other hand I do beleive that they would charge that much. But like you said any shop would be good. Just expect to wait a month or two if you let Aggressive install it

No head work, just the cam and other items that they would have to remove to do the job anyway like the waterpump, valvecovers etc.

Here is the email I sent and received by Kevin Hayes. I did send him back an email telling him other shops were much less. They said they wanted to remove the engine.

This person is looking for LCAS installed so any shop could do it, just giving him my experience so he can make the best decision.

Elliot,

Sorry for the late reply. Our LT1 tech I needed to speak with was out of the office.

I'm sure you are aware this is quite an extensive job on your vehicle. To complete everything you have listed in this email it will cost $2250.00. This includes degreeing the camshaft. Like most newr F-bodies we typically pull the engine out to do this task.

We also have a chassis dyno if you would like us to check your tune.

Thank you for the inquiry.
Kevin Hayes

Subject: Camshaft Install

Kevin, Do you do camshaft installs? If so, I have a 1996 Formula and I was going to tackle this myself but with the lack of skills and tools I thought I better leave this up to a pro. The car has 43,000 miles on it and is in very good condition. It has a set of emmissions legal Edelbrock shorty headers, Magnaflow cat back, 4:10 gears and LPE CAI. Not a race car but something I can drive on the weekend. I have purchased: Hotcam kit: rockers, cam, springs Electric water pump New LT4 valve covers Powder coated LT1 intake All gaskets New Opti Comp Lifters Comp Hardened pushrods PCM with Hotcam tune from Madz28. I would also like the radiator flushed. Please let me know if you do this and how much it would cost.
