No 2-3 shift at WOT...time for rebuild?

Well I went to Milan sunday (I saw ya there hink on way in but I'm not sure if you saw me).

First run car won't shift 2-3 so I bounced the limiter for awhile and ran a horrible 13.1 @ 110.5. Second run I decided to let off at top of 2nd, wait for shift, then get back on it. Ran a 12.6 @ 112 on a 1.96 60ft. I could have easily gone 12.2-12.3 at 115 or so if car would have shifted on its own without me having to wait for damn thing to shift. I should have left a lot harder but I didn't think the nittos would hook (I was wrong...I probably could have came off pretty hot and still hooked...maybe a 1.8). Not too bad for stock stall and nitto dr's.

I tried lowering the shift mph for wot via tuner cat 5mph but I still had the same problem so I think it's the tranny itself and not computer related. I am taking it to get looked at tomorrow and I'll have em throw the stall in if they have to take the tranny out.

I want to get it fixed and run it this Friday...if the new stall is in, I'm hoping for 11.8-11.9 on the nitto dr's at like 115 or so. Once I get some real tires and sfc's I will be hoping for 11.6-11.7. Should be a pretty good running ride once I'm done. Definitly has potential.

Unhappy OH NO!

Sorry to have missed you Sean! Would have been nice to talk to ya. I did speak to a couple of Firebird owners but they were those LS1 guyz that kick us all over the track, then spit on our LT1's in the pits. or drain their veins on our rear tires/wheels !

Not really, they were kool, It's like a Firebird Brother thing!
I'll root for ya wenst I'm not a-racin' ya!

Sounds like it's time for a rebuild. Mine did the same thing at Milan about 3 wks. ago. I've got most of the money for a rebuild, but need a little bit more. So I've been babying it for the last few weeks. So far the problem is only happening at WOT and under normal driving conditions shifts fine.

Ouch Rich. Hopefully I don't have as bad as luck as you. If so, well, looks like I'm pretty much screwed. Time to set up a bank heist .

DUDE, I can't believe I didn't think of that also. That happened to me. I left the lines disconnected for a few hours while I took a break or something. And when whatever I was doing was all said and done and I took it for a spin it wouldn't shift at anything over 1/4 throttle. 'Til I realized that DUH all my tranny fluid is on the ground. So I filled it up.. ran it around some. Was shifting much better but still not right. So I checked it again and I guess the TC drank some because I had to add more. Then a 3rd time before it was shifting right again... So you just MIGHT get lucky.

EDIT. BTW I don't think I mentioned how sweet you car was in this post.... IT IS SWEET.
