I see only three names qualified in EFI on NMCA webspace.
NONE is DERTY or HAWK. Wonder if they ran into breakage
troubles AGAIN???

Hope they can post us soon!

Arrow Went to the FABULOUS 131 Dragway...

... and that it is... FABULOUS... Number one track in Michigan and maybe the mid-west... Just BEAUTIFUL. I know it's a long drive for the Detroiters, but we need to look at renting THAT beauty for some M-Events or NATIONAL events, it's THAT GOOD!

My story however is a little sadder. Unloaded car went through teck and got okayed. However I did smell gas. Looked at all the injectors and manifold to find the leak. Ah-ha... #3 injector small
leak. Lifted fuel rail and pulled! Dang... part of the top O-ring is ate up! Desperately search tool box for an O-ring. NOPE! Got 8 LS1 injectors at home, but NONE in tool box, DARN! Reload car!
Watch a little tNt with Rebbeca and Joe. Come home.

Darn I wanted to run that track SOOOO bad and I WILL SOON!
HOOK looked FANTASTIC and spray, spray, spray the line they DID! What an amazing facility it has become. TOP NOTCH and I have raced tracks all over the country!

If I am fortunate enough to get a 10 time slip, it will be there!!

HInk (Now looking for those darned LS1 injectors)

EFI qualifying

Hink, thats only a partial list. NMCA posts a quickie list of top 3 qualifyers in every class after Sat. qualifying is done. It doesnt mean that they broke, it just means that they arent in the top 3.

Words out that Derty ran a 9.8 yesterday with his new setup.

Oh Well...

I put the car in the "D" index 10.50
First time run on saturday morning was 10.61@127,small wheels up 1.55 sixty foot...felt soft, timer setting .5 tenths delay on nitrous activation. At the top of third gear the car shook pretty hard???
Went to pit check lugs, all ok.
checked converter to flywheel bolts..all ok.
So decided to lower timer down to .10 delay to see what it would do...
...second time trial pass:
1.37 sixty, NICE big wheels up launch but at the top of first gear it began to shake again, I pull'd it into second gear at 6800 and BANG
...broken rear u-joint, drive shaft took a lil abuse to say the least.
Its ready for the trash can, at least it didn't come out or f- up anything else.
oh well $100 for one pass and a DNQ on the ladder.
On a sick note weighted the car:
3720 pounds, a 355LT1 moving 127mph= pretty sick tire hp

ps..
thanks too "Photos to go" I have a nice launch picture to scan and post in the am.
Question..
How can I convert 8mm tape to video files? anyone?
I have my crap and I also have Mike Yagaran's Misfortun in the semi-finals in Ramchargers Super Street..
...I was on the starting line taping the pass right next to the starter standing one foot from mikes car on the launch!
Ya gotta love having unrestricted all access as a class sponser but you get pretty sick when you watch one of your class cars burn to the ground on the top end looking the the video camara...zoomed in on it
Mikes ok with some superfical facial burnson the face and hands...
... the car
In the words of Al Tuchie in the tower as we watched the tape:
"INCREDITABLE FOOTAGE"
I captured it all!
IT was crazy to see he had the smarts to put the car up against the wall scrub off speed (175+ MPH FIREBALL)and point it to the other wall, open the door a leap out as the car rolled down the track in what was the worst fire i have ever seen at a track.
One very fine F-body was lost today but a life was spared!

goodnite all

Ya but I have put 27 nitrous runs on the car in the last three weekends all in mid 10's, mid 1.4 sixtys. It was just time for a u-joint failure.
