Exclamation Need Major help for insurance for the SS...

Well I kinda have a little problem... I have 9 points and State Farm wants $5,800.00 for 6 months insurance on my SS.

Does anyone have a lot of points that is getting a halfway decient rate. I'm not askin for a miracle just something better than $5,800.00 for 6 months.

Thanks,

Years ago I had kinda the same problem, (348.00 per month on a 4 cylinder sunbird)
I switched to no fault and the bank never said a word.
I do seem to remember when I initially wrote the policy I told them I owned the car and there was no lien on it.
Good luck dude.

Thumbs down

The whole thing is I need to find an insurance company that will give me a good normal rate. That price is for coverage on a stock SS.

I need coverage on a car for appraisal of $70,000!! !@^%

Buy a beater for $200.00 bucks and make the SS a recreation car. That is what I did and it cut my insurnace down by 1/3. In your case about $2000.00 dollars. I don't know how you can get around 9 points other than this.

Cool

Put it in the parents or girlfriends name. I did this many many years ago.

In any case, Insurance rates are just a little to high, and when something happens they just dont want to come off with the money to fix things.

You're insurance agency is screwing you with no lube. I have the 2nd most expensive car in my house and the daily driver cars are a 90 dakota sport, 89 honda accord, and a 95 dodge ram. The weekend cars, 2002 Aurora, my 98 Z, and a 99 Taurus

anyone can appraise your car for whatever amount your willing to pay.....so long as you can come up with reciepts in the general area it usually isn't a problem.

as far as the insurance, collectors car insurance will usually be a better bet since it will lower the rates because of the less amounts of use that the car sees any way. although if you counter that with a 70,000 dolla appraisal amount you'll probably be right back up there.

with that many points, your age, and a new SS your just asking to spend a fortune; if you can't get a lower rate with a collectors insurance i think your better off riding a bicycle for a while.

Damn dude! That was harsh!

Danee: Try Joe Nash at (248) 649-0770. Tell him Tom Szalach (zay-lak) sent you.

It's gonna be tough for you though, with the points, age, and the replacement-cost, you're looking at HIGH premiums.

Try Progressive. My rates aren't important here because I don't own an F-Body.

I used to be with Allstate... Same coverage, same vehicles, same deducts.,etc. Progressive beat them by almost $500/year.

And yes, I have my '92 Ranger 4 banger as my primary driver. No problem there.

Can insurance companies raise rates to unrealistic levels to get rid of someone they don't want to deal with? Almost sounds like that's what happened. I mean that's almost $12,000 a year!!! Haven't checked, so sorry if I insult you here, but Blue Book on that car shouldn't be much over $16,000.
Seems like they're almost anticipating you totaling the car out some time in the next 12 months.

Good luck

nothing short of changing your name and becoming someone else your...ummmmm
"You know"=screwed.
Parking the car and buy a beater will probley be your only way to drive and be able to buy insurance thats afforadable.
The ONLY real good advice I can give is don't play with the system or it will sting you worse bro!
