My car on the street today

Odd day. Got up to go to work in the morning and the tranny in my truck starts acting up. I turn around a come home, but I really needed to get to work today, had to go to a big meeting.
So I need transportation. I go in the garage and theirs my car sitting their, only driven around on the lawn, so I figured, what the hell, gotta road test it somehow.
It's 5:30 AM and I open the garage door, push my car outside, close the garage, open the gate, roll the car into the street, close the gate, get in the car, buckle up, kick on my noisy *** fuel pump, and fired it up. Nothing like open Supercomps in the morning

So I start heading down my usual route to work, and theirs a tran, and a cop car waiting to go. I freak, turn down a side street and headed to the next main street. got over the tracks their fine and come up to a stop sign. Motor shuts down. Traffic behind me. I pump the gas pedal about 10 times and it fired back up. Got a little sideways around the turn (this clutch engages quickly). Got stuck behind a semi. So, I drop down to 2nd, and without realizing it, I floor it. Big mistake, this thing has more power then I'm used to. 45 miles and hour and I'm doing a burnout. Never experienced that before. Let the gas up a little and the car hooks back up and I'm flying, glued to my seat. Insane ****. Then I needed gas, only had one gallon when I left the house. But I made it to a amaco station and everyone their comes running over to my car. I love getting compliments

But I made it to work, a 20 minute drive, open headers, 5:30 in the morning, never got stopped by a cop.

So here's the verdict: It's loud, runs like a big cammed small block, handles ok, brakes are a little soft, but we'll fix that, clutch engages really fast and holds really good, clutch pedal is easy to work, can sit in traffic all day and the temp never goes past 180, exhaust stinks, and I had alot of fun.

Bow to me

open headers

glad you didn't get busted or anything! that would have put a damper on things! i took my car to the bank in full race mode in May. it did feel pretty cool! slicks/skinnies and open exhaust!

....taner quickly looking in the garage for a spare t56 to toss into the car, lol!!!!!!! that is ok i will be able to drive it in about another week and a half!

Congrats, it's always cool when the neighbors know when you are up in the morning.

Joe that is sweet. I am glad you got it running and it sound very mean. It has to be making great power to light the tires at a 40 roll. After reading your post the other day I wet and picked up a few parts and I am hoping to have the IROC running by next weekend. I sold the WS6 and that is why I didn't make it to the Z28 event but unless I am taking a dirt nap I will see you at the M8 event. Can't wait to see some low 11s from that bad boy you have. Maybe 10s with some N20? You think?

11's on motor shouldn't be a problem if I can hook. I wanna spray it into the 9's. It'll take it, all forged guts.

Ok, so Denny got ride #1, my dad gets #2, Becca obviously gets the next ride, then Pete the brake man (found out my brakes only suck because my engine doesn't pull much vaccuum, the rest of the system is good!), then people will have to start throwing money at me for rides. Hrmmmmm.......
