Do you plan on getting it Dyno'd? Be interesting to see what kind of numbers you put down.

Re: My 383 stroker pics!!!

yea when its in a car we will probably see what it will do. A friend of the family who is helping us build it and getting all the parts for it builds engines for a living and with our same set up but with Dart pro1 heads clams about 575 hp.
John, I would like to put it in the 6er but in would cost a lot of $ to beef up the chassis and suspension. So we are looking for a rolling chassis that all ready has work done to it Ex. Cage, 9inch or 12 bolt other stuff. I would like to put it in a 4th or 1st gen fbody but we will see what we can find.

Re: My 383 stroker pics!!!

very cool. the short block is the same as I have. exc. mine is an LT1 with dish pistons to end up around 10.8:1 CR. I wish I could have gone with a bigger cam, but I already had this one, so I'll upgrade later when I can get some sweet heads. I'll post my pics too. I just started my car for hte first time today. been working on it all summer. I think your plan of finding a rolling chassis is a good one. you'll save alot of time/money. but the hard part is finding a good one. good luck with it and keep us informed of its progress. and dont forget to respray it every week or so to keep rust away.

Looks like a sweet engine, good luck building a ride that can harness that power.

is it just me or in the last pic on that page did you get red overspray on the block/head surface?

Yea its over spray but a little break cleaner will take care of all that.

Re: My 383 stroker pics!!!

act. I was goin to suggest the same thing. the oil pan rail and timing chain seal surface isnt so crucial, but he head gasket surface has to be spotless. but Im sure your in good hands if your dads buddy builds them for a living.
