Question Mods...What to do?

What should I do Gears? 3.42 or 3.73? I don't just want 1/4 mile speed either. I eventually want to do some autocrossing. Then how about a HPP?

For the time and money involved in gear changes you might as well go to the 3.73 to notice a difference. Then you will have to get something to tweak the speedo, which since you are still OBD-II the cheaper way would be the HPP. But if you are serious about the supercharger, you would be better off looking at either LT-1 Edit or Tunercat.

If you have a manual, I would go with 3:42's but if u have an auto, I would go with 3:73's.

Chad was on the money. I have a 96 WS6 Formula A4 with the 373 GM gears. They are quit . I have 373 DTS gears in my IROC. They make noise but are alot stronger than the GM gears. When you look at the teeth they are cut night and day difference. The top edge is about 1/4 a inch difference in thickness. You could put the ends of 3 GM teeth to match one tooth of a GM gear. So far I have not had any trouble from the rear other than the noise. That is with 303 RWHP on a $hit 87 housing running a 2400 stall built trans and DR's. It gets 1.8 60's. If your going to go blower you won't hear the gear noise anyway and will be cheaper in the long run.
