M9 preparations: Are you ready yet???

>whew< I was up till midnight last night getting Al's parts done, among other things. Where has the time gone!!?? I realize that there's a large list of things to do on my car before I can go, so this morning I got up early and fabricated a quick battery hold down for the new Genesis battery. That thing wont EVER come out now unless the car re-enters the atmosphere at Mach 15...

Next is the fixing of the transmission crossmember which managed to pop a bolt out of my subframe a few weeks ago. I need to cut a slot into the subframe now, fish a bolt up into there, and attempt to fasten down the crossmember.

I think I'm going to sell that thing and make my own from scratch. Anyone want to buy a Spohn T56 retrofit crossmember with adjustable torque arm for a third-gen?? Only 2,000 miles old.

Lastly, I need to put the race kit together to include:

Helmet
White shoe polish
Good, functioning pen for the tech card, which I will DEMAND at the gate before proceeding to inspection.
Video camera
Ice chest of non-caffienated drinks
Some snack bars
extra money in case I find a "deal"
combo screwdriver set, adjustable wrench, wire cutters
Secondary metering rods (assortment)
Baling wire
Duct tape
Flashlight
jacket, sweater, gloves

*maybe* some stuff to sell ?

Once packed, I need to wash the car and that's about it! No race tires this weekend, I am just showing up to have fun, do some passes, then sit & watch.

Not ready yet...

I don't think I ever become fully ready until about 2 weeks after the event has passed...

Yup, I still got it. Once I pull the engine out (which will ALSO be for sale, BTW) I'll sell the Torque Arm and Xmember for $300. Sound fair?

p.s. Tom, you are welcome to come over Friday night. I tried to email you but it bounced back to me! You better get yourself a new ISP. Your current one sucks.
