M7 Personal best:

In spite of my quick exit from the brackets and the quick 16, I think I can lay claim to the quickest non-trailered car at the event. There should be an award for that next year, hint hint Jason.

I got a PB on MPH motor only, 119.09

I could only manage a 10.88@125.64 (1.590) on my Et Streets, but Derty let me switch rim & tire with him, both Convo Pro's, but he has Hoosiers, 26x11.5.

With those I managed a PB of 10.76@127.82 (1.50).

Topped that off with another PB of 10.71@125.96 (1.51)

I know what tire I am switching to. Thanks Steve for participating in the experiment. BTW, the tires got the best MPH with 13 PSI, but got the best ET with 11.5 PSI.

I already got the hole in the headers fixed, thanks to Ken (Pipebender). So, looking to do a little adjustment, and back to the track.

My car shifted into 4th gear before I crossed the traps, so I think I need a 28" tire.

It was nice to meet everyone, although the day seemed to go by too quick. Nice hat Rebecca Finally got to meet Phantom Dave. Joe, you left too early. To my twin Joe, I hope you get your rear fixed. I never did get to check out the TT. Get a 12 bolt in there and some skinnies and slicks, and let her rip!! You'll see some nice times.

Jason, thanks for the good time, and dont forget about making a non-trailered award next year.

It was also great to see the F-bodFather there, Scott.

What are the next good events? Someone fill me in.

Two events left this year. Grand Bend Import vs Domestic and if you're up to a road trip, Thunder Shootout in Louisiana!

Good runs!

Hey Harold,

Congrats on the PB run. The car was looking good out there.

For some reason I was thinking that you had gone to slicks all ready. Had I known you were tire testing we could have used my Convo Pros with the Mickey ET Drags (26x10) for the three way tire shoot out. Maybe will have to set that up at Grand Bend.

Hey Harold,
Congrats on the new PB. Your car cooks!
FWIW I just switched to Hooiser QTP 27x11.5x15 and at M7 was able to pull a best of 1.428 with a bunch of mid 1.4s.
congrats again,
Eric

I actually had a trailer sitting at the house, for this event, but a few weeks ago, some looser stole my dam truck over in Flint!! I would have much rather set the car up at home and trailered it. Not that I cant drive it anywhere, just easier on the car if you can trailer it.

I actually have been thinking about going to the Thunder Shootout. I think I might trailer the car there Grand Bend would be nice.

M7 was my first time to the track with quite a few changes to the car. So, I guess you could say those were "shakedown" runs I think the car has the potential for a 10.5, and that is the goal before the end of the year.

Great video Eric. Can I get that on VHS? I could probably get Joe to stop over & pick it up with $$. Put the full runs of there also, if you can.

I'm sure I'll be seing you at some of those events Al.

Eric, Y2KSS, your car flat out hooks, and great times, especially considering it's a vert!! I have been thinking about the Hooiser QTP 27". What else have you done to the suspension to get those kind of 60's? I can see a 10.5 happening if I could get a 60' like that.

I have ET drags, which I wanted to switch, someplace in Stanton, but that didn't work out. I didn't want to drive there on them. So, they sat by the fence along with my other stuff.

BTW the raceweight on the car was 3450. My Dynabatt took a $hit, so I had to run the stock. Not alot of weight, but it all adds up. Next year will bring along some more weight reduction.

Anyone get some good wheels up pics?

Well once again for the 3rd year in a row I took a trophey home in the quick 16, but managed to lose the #1 cylinder in the final race against the green nova.
Still dont know the extent of the damage except the plug is completly melted. I did drive the car home 60 miles on 7 cylinders so the damage cant be too bad. A big thanks to Harold for the plug, unfortunetly it didnt do the trick.
I still managed to run a 10.81 and pull consistant 1.4 60's hanging the wheels. Not too shabby for a stock drivetrain.

Overall it was another great M event, now to get ready for M8.

Harold i like the idea of a fastest non trailered car award, I could use another trophey

Glad to hear you made it home. Now time to tear it down and see what exactly you did to your car. Finally got 12 second passes out of the Hot air Buick for the dot lost by a 100th on my dial in, broke out.. the M-7 event was another great time.

Matt, if they come up with that award, you wont get a trophy, unless it is second place

Check your mail. I had a question about those rims, the Convo.

Harold-

Congrats on the new time. Put some 28" on the car and maybe a bigger gear to keep your ratio the same, and that car should see 10.40's without any problem.

As far as my car goes, i am in search of a 12 bolt or 9 inch over the winter. But for now, i will be going to Grand Bend for sure. I got another 10 bolt from a guy at the track, he was nice enought to help me out, and I already got it swapped. I am hoping just to get through the rest of the year. and at Grand Bend, Who knows, might just put in on the 2 step and hope it does not break.

hope we see you at Grand Bend, should be an awsome event. you can check the car out there!

Joe
