Question M7 - Helmet Rule Enforced?

Okay, I know another guy already posted about borrowing a helmet, and the M7 website says "NHRA Rules Will Be Enforced", but am I hosed if I don't buy one by Saturday? I'm expecting to run 12.7 or 12.8 at best, and the rule is for anything below 14. I can bring a head-sock thingy if the track has rentals. It's just that I've never been made to wear one at Milan. And yes, I know, Mid-Michigan is in a different league than Milan.

Thanks!

I suggest that you find a helmet. I don't think they have rentals and I know they will not let you run that fast without one.

Awwwwwww Crap. Thanks man. I guess I got my answer straight from the source. I'll be doing some shopping this week then. No time for a delivery from the internet stores. So where can I pick one up in SE Michigan for cheap?

Sorry man. Don't want to take the chance of splattering your brains all over the track. People would be upset that they would have to wait for the clean up crew.

Try a motorcycle shop, any racing supply shop or see if you can borrow one from someone here.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thumbs up

I just got a cheap DOT helmet from a motorcycle shop for $40.00. You might as well get one to have if your going to keep running at the track. Eventually even Milan is going to catch up with you if your running in the mid 12's.

I also have an extra helmet I can bring that someone can use.

On a side note, I bought a Snell 95 full face helmet from JC Whitney for only $80. I highly recommend it to anyone. This is it right here: http://jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml?CATID=77633&BQ=jcw2 . It looks like they only have one size left. If you ordered one from Whitney today and it was in stock, you should have it by Friday!

Check out what they have here: http://jcwhitney.com/catsubpic.jhtml?CATID=61074
