NOTE: The Offical M11 Event forums have moved! The new location is:

Chances are, everyone here has already heard about this and then some, so this post is for the benefit of those who might not have heard about it.
M11, the 11th Annual Michigan GM Event is on October 7 and it is coming up FAST!
If you haven't heard of the M events, they are a killer one-day drag racing event at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, MI. It is for all domestic GM cars and many consider it a "last blast" of the year before the cars go away for winter storage.
Good times, good friends, good racing (with CASH payouts), lots of FAST cars, 2 bracket classes and a Quick 16 class, AWESOME giveaways, cheap spectator prices, and cool hotel parties the night before and the night after. Just a damn good time, that's what the M event is all about, ask anyone who has been to one.
Pre-register now to save a few bucks or just show up the day of the event. All information can be found at:

OK, I'm thinking about bringing my new TrailBlazer SS, just to see what it'll do.
Frezza, are you bringing yours? Maybe we can square off.
I might come early and be in line first so that Dave D. can stall during inspection and I end up car #2.... again!!!!!!!
Or, I might just try real hard to win runner up in the 13.0 and slower class..... again!!!!!!!!!!! Just like M7.
Choices are fun!

I'm actually going to be bringing the Camaro this year.
I'd like to bring the Trailblazer, but I've never driven the Camaro yet and it'll have been in the shop for ~6 months straight at that point. If it's not done for M11, well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

I'm bring my '01 Chevy Venture Minivan çause it's got traction control and gets 24 miles per galllon! It ought to be a nice, consistent bracket racer. :P

I'm planning on being there with the Z28, and I think my father in law is bringing the GSX. Last year was great! Stanton is by far my favorite track (I've only been to three, but it's a LOT nicer than the other two).
If you're willing to pay the admission, I may have a turbo Buick you could drive. It also gets 24 miles per gallon... if you stay out of the throttle.
With the drag radials, a couple gallons of 108 added to an empty tank, and a chip swap, it should be good for a high 12. The previous owner said he managed a 12.9 with that setup.
No traction control... but man is it fun!

Ive got a question - could I make like 1 pass during test and tune before the bracket racing starts? If its not a big deal to do (easy tech in, not paying for the entire day, etc etc) id like to see what my truck can do

That'd be up to Jason, but I doubt that you could get up to the lights without paying at least the $30 preregistration fee.
If you just want to make one pass, go to a local track (131 Dragway? I hear that's a nice track.) on a public test&tune night. Admission on those nights is is typically under $15.

Just think, the price of admission to M11 is probably less than what you'll be paying for lunch and gas money.
Pre-register then bring the truck! I need some competition for my minivan.

hows the track prep there? any one been to norwalk that can compare it so i can decide if i actually NEED slicks... I know Milan has had crappy prep (worse than usual lately it seems) and couldve used them there... that was BEFORE the mods we putting in this weekend (just for M11)

Re: M11 is less than 3 weeks away! Let's start talking about it!
Stanton track prep is really good at the beginning of the day but we have to face facts here, we bring a LOT of street tire cars to this event and street tires ruin track prep fast.
I'd recommend bringing the slicks to insure a good hook all day.

Re: M11 is less than 3 weeks away! Let's start talking about it!
Street tires can drip water from the burnout box all the way to the staging lanes, ruining it for the next racer(s).
