You guys doing an "east side" caravan? Mind if a few others join in? Are you heading north (out 69), or taking 96?

Hey Sean & Mark, hope all is going well Yep, I think there is going to be a LOT of interest in getting an "eastside" caravan together for M8 on Saturday morning. Keep me in "the loop" on this one

Thanks,

Ken

Mavricki18, welcome aboard! Okay, now the question for those Sterling Heights, St Clair Shores, Warren, Roseville, etc. (and even more further north) "eastsiders", is do we go up Van Dyke to I-69 and across, or do we go up I-75 and across, or do we drop down to I-696 to I-96 and go across??? Anyone ever gone all these ways to Mid Michigan, and if so, which is best?

We took 696 to 96 to m66 last time but if someone knows better than we'll go that route. Only problem is my dad won't be able to go more than 55 mph cuz of the th400 and 4.10 rear. We're working on getting a trailer / dolly to borrow because my friend offered us use of his new z71 silverado to two it there. I'll be chilling with my gf up at msu friday night (along with patrick aka rodrigues and I'll catch you guys as you go by if you take 96 (which would be cool but whatever works). As long as we all meet up at the mcdonalds in Ionia (I think) then I'll be set since it'll look BADASS on the 20 minute trip to the track from there. Let me know what you guys think.

i may possibly join in.

as far as the route, 696 to 96 would probably be best
EXCEPT they've been doing road work on 696 at 75 and rerouting traffic onto 11 mile

so unless you want to meet up on the west side then i'd reconsider the route, not sure about the 69 thing.

anybody know more about where the road work is?

696 to 96 sounds good to me. We probly want to meet the rest of the krew in Ionia at 9 so we should probly give ourselves a good 2 1/2 hours to get to Ionia. Any ideas for a metting spot? The BP on mound right b4 gitting on 696?

This is the best way to go. I have tried several ways and like this one the best.

I just went to Detroit Speed Works last weekend. We went both ways...96 to 696 to 75 to 14 mile there & 14 mile to 75 to 69 back. Personally, I'd go the 696 to 96 route. It just seemed faster. Granted, you'll go through a little construction...but, will it really make a difference that early in the morning?

Im a west side detroiter. Im taking the 96W to 66N route. interested in meeting up somewhere in the middle w/a few more goin that way? I got 3 or 4 in my group. I'll be heading 275N to 96W so you know where Im coming from. maybe I can just wait for ya at the 12oaks/novi road entrance to west bound I96 and someone can call me when your getting there so I can just join ya and not really have to stop. what ya think? my cell # is 313-655-2983 if someone can call me when your getting by there. or if someone else wants to join my train.

see ya all at Ionia atleast.

i too will be heading out 94-696-96-etc.

a few of us will be pulling trailers just in case so i don't think we'll caravan and slow everyone down. if anyone wants to follow that hasn't been they are more then welcome of course.

Bp sounds good, they've got a huge parking lot and i don't think there's any lights to split the group up getting on 696.
