Do the vettes really rattle that bad? I drove a couple of C4 verts and they did rattle bad. I thought it was just the verts. I drove a ZR1 and it didn't have any rattles? I had a 77 Vette and a 79 Vette and they didn't rattle but they were C3.

My 95 had no rattles at all. I drove the car until it had 62,000 miles on the clock. It also drove very good, to me, wasn't a harsh ride at all. I only had the standard suspension not the z71 or fx3, but it still handled better than any other car I've owned. I know for a fact that the c4 verts vibrate a lot more, they have bad cowel shake, and probably rattle more.

I haven't driven the LS-1s yet, but I can comment on the C4 Corvettes. I have a '94 which ran a 13.39@104 mostly stock (open airbox w/ K&N is really the only mod). It has the fx3 adjustable suspension which is a little harsh on some bumps, but is really not bad at all on the highways. It has around 80,000 miles on it and has a few squeaks/rattles, but I recently added a camber brace to the front end (ties the upper control arms together) and it made a world of difference. The whole car rides better and has far less flex and wobble than it did before. That and I have a Corvette at the end of the day that costs less than the LS-1 Camaros/TAs.

well we still need to know what your wanting, a car to throw a bunch of mods at and make a strip killer or something to tool around in. if your looking to go drag racing then get the LS1. but if you just want a nice ride that will hold its value in the next 5-10 years then get the vette. for me that choice is easy. LS1 TA when I can get the wife to open up her(my)wallet. Im not interested in the glory of owning a vette because its a vette, but money permitting Id buy a Z06 (dreaming here ofcourse).

good luck either way

Thanks for the compliment. I think there is a little more in it. That was my first time ever drag racing, so my 60 ft times were pretty awful. Anyway, the C4 is one of the most fun to drive cars I have driven, especially for the price. And for having around 80,000 miles, it has really held together well.

I agree that the dyno numbers are a little low. I had the car run at Detroit Speedworks on their Mustang Dyno, but looking at the curves it looks like the computer was pulling some timing out or something and cost 30-50hp. I was pleasantly surprised at the time and speed at the track. With better tires and a better driver, the car could be close to a 12 second car.
