Well, I got hoed out of my engine I was gonna buy. I was 3/4 of the way to my goal for the money he wanted and he turns around and tells me he is not selling it now and wants to keep it......cool. So I am looking again for another engine. Small block perferbly since I don't have lots of money to spend. I am gonna have to go carb to stay cheap for now but if anyone knows of one for sale, give me the specs and the price and we can go from there. Chris (IROCSS), is ur engine still for sale?

 

It would be a good start. What is it, 3,500 bucks for the complete 330hp 380tq 350 deluxe package with 750 carb?

 

I have a 350 crate motor, new in 2001 run for about 1/2 hour to break in cam. Vortec heads, Edelbrock Performer Vortec manifold and cam, Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm vac sec carb. Sitting in garage, not going to use anymore. I will take $1,500, come and get it in Bloomfield.

What are the cam specs? And what about the internals and where did the crate motor come from (Company)?

 

Motor and Vortec heads came from Pace. Edelbrock 2101 Performer cam (check specs at Edelbrock), Edelbrock Performer Vortec Manifold and Edelbrock Performer 1406 Carb. Let me kow if you want it. You will have to bring a cherry picker or some type of hoist as it is on a low engine stand in my garage. I am located just south of the Pontiac Silverdome (Long Lake and Telegraph)

 

I am very interested in this engine. What did ur car run with this engine in it? What kind of pistons, rods and crank do u have in it?


On a side note: I cannot find 2101 Edelbrock cam anywhere. Are u sure thats the number? Cause they make an Edelbrock 2101 INTAKE manifold, but not a cam from what I can see.

Car was never run. I put the motor in and broke in the cam (ran for about 1/2 hour). I had the motor in the car for about a year, never actually getting the car on the road, parted the car, but kept the motor for my corvette project, now I am scrapping that also.

Oops, I forget the other question. The motor and internals are all GM stock. Motor was brand new from Pace, I replaced the heads with brand new Vortecs and put on the Performer package.

 

That sounds like a pretty good starter engine. I will contact you furthur.

 

yeah eric, that sounds like a great starter eng. for ya. great price too and carl is a good guy. already dealt w/him and about to be buying some more stuff from him. this eng. will prolly be trouble free too, which is great for someone like yourself. I dont think I want to sell mine anymore anyways. since my financial status is not changing like I thought it was goin to. looks like were not getting the new house due to the wife changing her mind.

I think the aluminum ones are fast burn heads. If you are serious come and take a look at it. This is nothing special. It is just a brand new 350 4 bolt motor with a few go fast parts. Do not think I may have put something super special in it and you are going to get a super fast motor for this price (or maybe I put on Fast Burns and I only think they are Vortecs), what you see is what you get. It will be a good, strong 350 that you can build up to make more horsepower.

 

I know Carl. I am not looking for anything extreme. I just want to make sure I have all the specs correct before I go look at it. I am going to look at it for sure but I just have to find some time to. With full-time classes and part time job, its hard to get some time off to come from Mount Pleasant to where u live. But I will find the time.

Is it a early model block or a late model block? 1 peice or 2 peice rear main seal? Thanks Carl.
