For somebody who stopped playing video games past the super nintendo, I think I did pretty well! Besides, I'm not the only one who was getting shot...

 

I need a new video card or perhaps a motherboard and card before I do any more parties. Anyone want to make recommendations? Right now I just have an Sis with on board video. My old ATI Rage worked great, but there's no slot for it on this board.
Are PCI video cards any good? Or should I get a new MB iwth an AGP slot? And what card should I get that will do the job well and not break the bank?
I couldn't believe the difference between my video and Yomama's sitting right next to me... or Dave's which was pretty crazy looking too...

As for video cards, I don't know much about them, I have a Nvidea Gforce 4 Ti4600 that I haven't installed in my system yet, but from what I've heard it's a damn good card and it wasn't too expensive, but I wouldn't call it cheap either.

There's a few 16 port switches sitting at my work that I doubt will ever get used, I'll try and nab them if they don't need them.

Ok, just woke up from my nap I wanted to thank all of you for showing up and making this a GREAT birthday party. Espically Chris for keeping us all online and playing. You were awesome....thanks. As for a East side party, just say the word....I am there. Given enough notice anyway When ever anyone is ready to play a game online, give a yell. My brother and I played a few after you guys left. They were fun, but nothing like having 8 people in the same game. That was WAY cool. I have your tool kit Joe, and Daves surge strip, and a pretty red surge strip. If anyone needs their stuff you can stop by and grab it, or I should be in the Detroit area next weekend. Give a shout and we can meet up when I am there. Till then I will take care of the stuff like it was my own

One complaint related to the LAN party though..


It cost me $46 to fill up my truck for the trip. Couple that with a 12 pack of dew and it was a $51 hit to the credit card at the gas station...
