Info for a woodward lot

I know last year, Jeff gave me the hook up with S3. This year S3 isnt doing a lot. So anyone have a hookup for some parking over there. I obviously have a few cars coming. Last year we had 15 or more. This year should be better. Anyone help?

i'd be happy to help you with any resources you may need or suggestions since i went through so much leg work. last year S3 really did you guys wrong and i appologize for that so your better off without them. with a smaller amount of cars you shouldn't have much of a problem but you need to get on it fast. it's unfortunate that 13 mile lot is still dirt on the west side of woodward as i thought it was a great spot except for that.

there are a few places though like the various fruit markets as well as one or two of the oil change shops that are reasonable and should have around 20 or so spots. if your going 30+ this year you really need to have something set in stone within the next week or two as the prices really jump.

Give me a day or two and I will have a car count for you. Then you can recommend the best route for us. Thanks again Jeff.

good to know....i like the jax carwash as it has some pretty easy enterance points but your limited on spaces and it's so late now i don't see it being available.

there should be some good spots still left though. if anyone works or knows of someone personall who works out in that area between 12-14 mile preferably let us know.

If the $5000 we paid for the MM lot last year was costly how do you think this will go over?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jax Kar Wash has three properties on Woodward Avenue that we are making available for rent during the 2004 Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 21, 2004.

The properties are:
27054 Woodward
(At 11 Mile)
-- Largest, most accessible site. Open convenience store and gas station on site.

30908 Woodward
(At 13 Mile)
-- A little smaller than 11 Mile store. Less "busy" because there is no convenience store. Still in the "heart" of the action.

34745 Woodward
(S. of Maple)
The most "private," "cozy" location. Located in historic downtown Birmingham. This Jax itself is a historic location, dating to 1956 with original signage, etc. Very nice and nostalgic.

The car washes will be closed that day.

The property at 11 Mile has a convenience store and gas station that will remain open.

Our asking price for each property is $12,000 negotiable.

Questions, thoughts? Just call or e-mail me.

Best regards,

that lot at best could park maybe 50 cars...
I might be wrong but ....

The ripoff is the property owners putting the money they get in there pockets. The money Motown muscle paid for the past two years lots they rented went to the charity foundation >>

, that was the intent of the WDC.
I wish my contacts were better

Good God, that is outrageous. This is what has made me consider not going this year. Greed always gets out of hand. My pockets arent that deep either

I like the idea of charity donations, didnt realize that is what you guys were doing the last two years.

I am more and more tempted to come over during the week, have fun till Friday then pack up and head home for the weekend.

after dealing with all the owners on the strip for over 3 weeks arguing over what lots were worth i did the same thing last year. way to much commercial problems going on.

as far as the jax lot. i really like the 13 mile spot because you can really control your access point and it's right by dugans which is pretty much the center of it. 12,000 is pretty steep since the belle tire across the street was going for that much last year and it had more spots for 30+cars. it did say negotiable though and last year they told me they would take less that was much more affordable.

i really don't see anyway of getting around paying less then 60-70 a spot unless you get a really large spot for cheap that isn't right off the strip. i would assume most will have to pay around 100 a spot for the weekend which is pretty pricey to me but that's the way it goes.

even still a lot that costs 5,000 that will fit enough cars to keep costs down under 100 a spot will more then likely be off of the main section area or far from the action as you would need 50 cars just to break even and there is no way your going to do that in some of the prime spots like the jax, belle tire, harmon auto glass, etc.

now as a point of reference the auto glass on 12 mile i believe was around 7,000 last year but it only had 24 spots with 4 being in the bay's that they would open up for use to sit out of the sun or otherwise.

its almost better to just stick to the weekday events now because of how people are messing things up for those who truly want to appreciate it. i say we drive our beaters out there in protest!

on another note why can't you post or respond on that section of the board? do they not want to hear peoples reactions to anything that's going on? people need to take their cars elsewhere.....

just noticed it was archives......

and this one 23 spots for $8250, that's $359 a spot for basically a one day event.....these people are mad and need to be stopped. is that why the boards are locked???

I really am thinking more of the week type event instead of a weekend thing. 100 bucks or less is standard all the years I have gone, and that I can live with. But alot of these places are getting out of hand. It is truly a shame that the greed is getting in the way of the event and what it is suspose to signify.

As for that board, that sucks bad. You cant even PM anyone for info.

Thanks for the tips guys, I guess I need to see what everyone wants to do this year for sure.

What a bummer

Maybe I will just come over and make Debler get me drunk all week
