indoor show

a few of us are putting a show series together and were looking for venues. anyone ever tried to put on a show at the silverdome? in theory it would be alot easier then dealing with detroits issues and much more room when compared to something like motorama in novi. with there recent opening in events it might be possible.

what do you guys think? how many would enter, who would go?

what would you pay assuming parking was free unlike autorama or novi expo motorama. understand that the size alone would require a mix of all vehicles however.

Is there a club organizing this or is it just you? I would expect to pay $3-$5 to get in if the show had 30 cars or more.

I think $6 would be reasonable to charge if you have a decent amount of cars 50+ with some exotic hot rods. I would count my car in but it looks plain (from the outside )

this is something that would involve many of the local area clubs as well as business and sponsors from other states. not to mention magazine coverage and possibly tv coverage as well from definate local communites and possibly outside of the state.

if it were indoor at a place as large as silverdome you would have to expect a min of $10-12 to get in. however, were also considering keeping it outside and charging half of that. of course all of this would be spectator and parking combined fees. for those that were in judging classes expect to pay a bit more.

all ideas are up in the air as we are waiting on permits and location decisions. just wanted to see who if anyone over here would be interested in the idea.

I remember going to a carshow at the dome back in the late 80's.
They had cars all the way around the lower concorse and down on the field.
It was a good layout

the state park here in Algonac hosts some pretty nice car shows, I would think that it would not be difficult to set it up. Its a nice drive through the country and we have LOTS of cars in the area. If interested I will find out more. Let me know
