Sure, I'll go out with ya! However, even though it's our tenth date, don't expect a kiss quite yet

Not placed yet. I still have loose ends from M9 to take care of.

However, it looks like 10 will be my last and I will hand it over to someone else. I'll get into reasons why later.

Re: I know its early...

Well, it was already discussed with someone as far back as M7. Technically, it is still 1-2 years off (depending on how you look at it) so anything can happen between now and then.

I will still probably have a hand in it, but I won't be "running the show" to the same extent.

Re: I know its early...

If, Jason, you are 'handing off' responsibility of the event, is there perhaps some plans to make it a group effort, rather than simply trying to run it as an individual? Maybe a team approach, or a club approach: Call it the "M" club where membership means one volunteers to support the event in some kind of fashion.

It is kind of like when you have a car that you completely cherish, but the time comes to sell it. You want to sell it to someone who you don't have to worry about taking good care of it from the time you drop the keys in their hand. Not an easy thing to do.

Like I said, we are a LONG way off.

Jason, I can relate to what you are feeling. I started an annual car show when I lived up north. After 8 or 9 years, it became a chore, not a pleasure, and one day, some lowlife mouthed off at the wrong time. It became clear to me that day that it was time for the show to have a new coordinator. I tried to get someone else, but because people knew I would keep doing it, no one stepped up. Finally, I took a transfer and moved. Of course, THEN someone stepped up. They just had their 16th show.

Life is too short to give away your time and energy to something that no longer gives back pleasure.
