I've got a buddy who's friend has a pair he wants to sell. He works for a company that makes them apparently and picked em up planning to use them. Now he has too many projects and wants to get rid of them. What are they worth and is anyone interested. I'm going to go look at them tonight and snap some pictures. But as far as I know they are absolutely brand new, never been mounted and are complete NOT bare. Thanks for any info.

Set of what? By the post it sounds like a PAIR OF 5.3L engines...

haha....sorry guys I'm an idiot, I can't believe I forgot to specify. Yes they are complete HEADS not engines. I just looked at them yesterday. They are indeed complete with valves,springs,etc. They even have brand new correctly gapped AC Delco plugs in them already. Now that I've corrected myself, what do you think they're worth? Thanks

Tell your friend to take a small amount of money and get the heads flow tested. Once you have the numbers you will better know what they are worth. What work was done to them? What size valves?

As far as I know they are stock 5.3L heads. They haven't been worked over or anything. They were built and assembled, just never installed before he got his hands on them. I know a lot of the LS1 guys use them as an upgrade, but I don't know if it's in stock form or if they use the added mass for a better starting point. They are in absolutely beautiful condition though.

I would say about $400 is the going rate for a set of stock ones. The 5.3s will increase an ls1s compression to about 11/1 maybe a little less. But they have smaller valves than a ls1 head (I think the intake is a 1.98 the ls1 being 2.0) By the time you got new valves for them and got them ported it would end up costing you about a grand.
