If you wanna race on the streets of Detroit, Go ahead. DO NOT BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU ARE PULLED OVER, HAVE YOUR CAR IMPOUNDED/PERHAPS CONFISCATED AND SOLD AT AUCTION, AND ARRESTED WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF JAILTIME.

Still thinking about racing on the streets? Why don't ya ask IROC5.7TPI or Black Sunshine 00/SS or TA JACK about doing anything on the streets of Detroit.... They are the ones I believe have gotten cited recently for one thing or another.

Don't come in here asking where to race in Detroit. We do have cops that are members and also cops that "lurk" to find where people race.

I went out last night just because I was bored and was in my beater and went to a few of the "spots". Guess what? No more than a few people at any of them, and the one popular place next to a major freeway- cops busting about 300 guys on crotchrockets.

I've stayed away from the city ever since they passed that law that says they can take and keep your ****.

From what I was told, all the ricers been hanging out by the airport Friday and Saturday nights. A lot of them don't know what they're dealing with and will go home crying to mom and dad when their cars' get taken.

Best thing to do is wait for an organized event and go to the track. Street racing is dead in Detroit

Your new here, so I will be easy on you. 99% of the people on this site dont street race, or try not to This is not the Fast and the Furious. It was a movie, lets leave it at that. If your looking for fun, try Stanton on Wednesday nights they have test and tune. Or try Milan Speedway, they have a TNT night as well, just not sure which. Plus everyone of the dragways around have events all the time on the weekends where you can get in and race other drivers...LEGALLY. The only ticket you will get is the one telling you how fast you REALLY went I guess what I'm trying to say is, dont fall into all the crap your buddies talk in High School. They dont know crap about the real world of racing your car. There is more to be learned right here in this forum then your entire high school. Plus you will learn it right the first time, from people who have actually done it. Sounds like you made one good choice already and got a F-body. Keep up the good run of decisions, and go to the track. Hell, you could pick a day you wanted to go, announce it here, and I GUARANTEE somebody from here will show up and help you out. Good people float this board, take advantage of it just my .02

Save it for the track. If you end up doing anything like the asses on the news lately (losing control and killing bystanders) then you'll be having a really nice life with Bubba and Guido at Jackson State Pen. That's if the family of the victims don't get to you first.

No one likes being sterotyped, but adding to the issue is only going to make things worse. My insurance is already high enough because too many people wrap their cars around telephone poles doing stupid crap. Granted, we all can get stupid at times and you'll know when you can be a little stupid. But at the same time hunting down street races is far beyond stupid.

Watching NASCAR learning what Aero Push is is not adequately considered "training"! Come out to the track, go to a closed course autocross or road course and get some support. It's a lot more competitive, safer and fun.

your only 16 and wanting to race on the streets!!? please keep it to the track. 16 year olds and f-bodys are a bad enough combination..let alone wanting to race down city streets..im 19 and i still think im too in-experinced to be running my car down the track let alone racing on the streets

My ticket was only for a burnout, not street racing.

I only race at the track, lot's of em out in the country

At your age, keep it to the track. You dont even have a clue on how to control your car yet. Hell, at my age I have a rough time at it sometimes.

Listen street racing isnt the answer, it gives you a quick high but it puts you in jail so get a little older and come talk unless you go to the track have fun with everyone else, trouble gets you nothin but trouble, take it from people who have been there.

Chevy Boy.

Beware, atleast 3 cops on this board that i know of. Be smart about what you do. And pick and choose the safest races. And STAY away from big groups of people racing, parking etc. just a police magnent.

There's lots of hot street racing on Gratiot Avenue, between 12 mile and 10 mile. Just cruise around there, rev your engine a bit, and squeal your tires from the light. You'll find lots of willing racers.
