Has anyone ever repaired a rusted QTR panel.
Has anyone ever repaired a rusted QTR panel.
I just bought a 89 camaro rs when stripping it down . I have a good size rust hole in the lower rh qtr. behind the gfx. I know i need too cut out the rust and fab sheet metal to patch. but what size material thickness should i get. and has any one done this before if so how much would you charge to do it. i live in ferndale. Thanks.

Got to shermanparts.com and order up a new quarter panel and have it welded in. Much easier than trying to fab up a patch. I put a floorpan from them in my old GN, and it fit like OEM.

Its not a big deal if you have the right tools. Get the same thickness metal, cut out the old, weld in the new. weld/grind/bondo/prime/paint = good as new if you know what you're doing. Getting a whole new 1/4 is senseless if theres just a small hole.
