Re: Harlen Shift light?

well, he's not the best at replyin quick. not at all. sometimes when Id email him, it'd take a couple weeks to hear back from him. but the shiftlight works great so far, however its only been in the car for about 20 mi.s search other shift lights though cause after I sent him the money for my dads, I found another shift light that is act. a few bucks less, and is slimmer/shorter design, and it comes in an anodized alum. tube and you get your choice of color for the outside aswell as the lights.
but I still wouldnt say "dont get a harlan light" or anything like that, just look at the competition ya know? ofcourse I dont remember the name of the company, but they sell all kinds of hipo parts. ohyeah, I found that shift light on a mustang site. I have no idea what I was lookin at on that site though, I think one of my buddies sent me a link for something and I bumped into a post about it.

do you need any thing else with that light to make it work, like a RPM actvated switch? or is that it?

Re: Harlen Shift light?

oh, just found out its $85 plus $7 for shipping, and the harlan is a good amount cheaper at like $55 plus shipping (you can pick it up from him though, he lives in waterford) its your call though. IMHO, if your gonna mount it where it'll be seen, get the raptor. if its gonna be a hidden install, get the harlan.

Re: Harlen Shift light?

you dont need anything for the proform light, but it has a dial on the back which sounds convenient, but really it sucks cause it can move and since it faces backwards, you cant just read it to make sure its where its supposed to be. the other lights have switches or a dial that clicks into place, so they will never move. I hate my proform light I have in my Iroc just for that reason. and its the bulkiest of them all. again, thats just my opinion.

Re: Harlen Shift light?

i dunno.. my proform fits right beneath my pillar pod.. actually took the goofy mounting stand off and drilled a hole im my pillar then used a washer and the screw to mount it to the pillar.. very clean install in my opinion.. also i havent had my dail in the back ever come loose.. in fact mine was very tight when i got it..the reflection off of my windsheild also works perfect to set the diall. for 40 bucks i think its a steal..

Re: Harlen Shift light?

Ive got the raptor light and it gets two thumbs up from me. Very similiar to the harlan but with better directions, more wiring (in length so no splicing), better case and easier to set since you dont need to remove the case to change the RPM. Also his customer service is top notch, fast shipping.

I had a harlan light, had issues with it, talked to harlan, he said send it back. That was 1.5 years ago. After emails, letters, PMs etc, all with no response and my shiftlight never being returned fixed or broken, i say screw him.

Re: Harlen Shift light?

Is the Harlan guy still around. I ordered a shift light and window switch about two weeks ago. I got the automated response but nothing since. I have emailed him a couple of times with no response. Did I get screwed? Should I file a complaint with paypal? Or is this guy good but really slow. I realize people are busy but a courtesy email would be nice.

Re: Harlen Shift light?

yeah thats just unfortunatly the way he is. not very good at getting back to people. I went through the same thing. emails no respnse. then finally he emailed back. then we paid, but the part didnt come in for like a few weeks even though he lives in waterford not like across the country or something. keep emailing him. I think he's always on LS1.com or .tech. seems he's a mod. on one of those sites. cant remember.
