Post Grand Rapiders and surrounding area....caravan to stanton

We need to set a time and place to gather to make the trip to Stanton on the 3rd. The gates open at 2pm, and we have about a hour to get to stanton...I think. So how about we meet at someplace like the truck stop gas station right off the exit for 100th street. That give us a nice cruise thru GR and up to stanton. For some reason that is the only place I can think of off the highway. Any input?

How about the gas station at the corner of 28th street and Clyde Park? If that doesnt work, 100th street is fine.

So what time should we meet there? 1:00? Also, who wants to bring what for cookin out? I'll bring some hamburgers and hot dogs. Does someone have a small grill that they can bring?

Quentin, unless you know a shortcut to Stanton it takes a bit longer than an hour to get there. I remember leaving my house and getting there about an hour and a half later. Its quite a drive. I think we should meet a little earlier. I also vote for a 28th street meeting place. Unless you live farther out than I thought of course. I dunno. Anyone else object/have input on a 100th or 28th st. meeting place?

The 28th clyde park location is fine with me. I am glad you told me the time, maybe we should meet at noon. I have a giant cooler for dirnks that I can bring, get some ice in it and some Koolaid mix and we should be able to get some water at the track....right? I can also throw in a few packs of buns since Chris is gonna bring some dogs. Didnt Rebecca say she was covering the mustard and ketchup? So as far as I am concerned, lets call it 28th and Clyde Park gas station at noon on the 3rd of august. We will wait till 12:15 and then if your not there you can always try to catch up

You may want to get water ahead of time. Not sure if you'll be able to get enough at the track. I'm going to need quite a bit of time to get everything ready with my car in the morning. I'd like to have another place to meet up if possible, north of town. It takes about one hour from Post Road and 131 to get to Stanton. Just being selfish, but I've got enough to work on before driving south of town, then north again. I'll figure out something though.

Post road would work, my brother lives right in Blemont, I could get the water there, and we could meet then. So how about the Gas station at post road at 12:30, and we will leave by 12:45 at the latest. Anyone who is late can catch up. Are we in agreement?

Sounds good. I know exactly where you are talking about. And yeah, its better to meet on the north side of town if we have to head that way anyways. Now where is Chris89Stang??? We need him to show us that windy country road through Greenville! WHERE ARE YOU CHRIS????

I'm going to need directions because the last thing I want to do is get lost when I need/want to be somewhere on time. So when you guys decide on a place to meet if somebody would please just email me directions that'd be great.

And for whoever it was that asked, I'm going to try to get my hands on a little grill so we can cook out. You have to bring your own food to put on it, but I'll have a bottle of ketchup and a bottle of mustard.

How many people does it look like will be coming (just out of curiosity)? Does anybody need the email about the pit party?

If you are coming from K'zoo, take 131 North. About 4 or 5 miles north of the 131/96 Interchange, there will be a Post Rd./Belmont exit. I believe the gas station is on the right as you get off the highway. If you get lost, call my cell phone and I'll try and give you directions. 616-813-8681.

There was an e-mail? At this point, I would guess that we would have around 10-15 people.

Thanks for the directions. And yes, there was an email. I wrote it. I posted a message about it asking people who were coming to email me. Nobody emailed me, so I took the liberty of emailing some people who posted and said they were coming. Geez, some men just cannot follow directions!

(Check your email because I sent it to you.)

Cool, then post road it is. We meet at 12:30 and leave at the latest 12:45. According to Derty we can make it on time from there. I got the 5 gallon cooler of drink I am bringing, sorry just iced down Koolaid, but better then nothing. I can grab some other stuff too. I also got off the phone with my friend who works at Hooters. She said no problem, bring the cars down after the track day if we want. There is plenty of parking in back, and she will do everything she can to show us some EXTRA attention when we are there. As long as she isnt too busy. If we can get enough people to cruise back to Hooters we might just make a little impact on the place. Could be a good time. Dont worry Rebecca, since they dont let guys work there, we will convince Sinstersyclone to take pictures on the hood of your car Just no thongs this time chris

The gas station is to the left when you get off at Post Road. Hanging a right will take you back towards the North side of GR and nothing but houses for 3 miles.

There is a car show at Hooters on Friday night for those of you in town. It's typically the guys that are competing, but everyone is welcome. The racing will probably begin to finish up around 8 or so. If you guys are up to Hooters afterwards I know I'll make it if I don't break something.

I could have swore it was to the right, either way I am sure we can all find it since it is right off the highway. I think I should be down on friday night, I am finishing up the tune on my car right now....just got my tunercat Anyway, I know I am ready for Hooters afterward. Should be a good time to swap stories after a good day at the track. And if you break something Derty, I will let you ride in the back of my Z Ok you can have shotgun

I don't believe there will be any racing for me Friday... But a car show at Hooters sounds fun.

Post Drive sounds good. Count me in.
