Re: got pulled over today

Dang sounds like he was finishing up a shift and trying to make his quota or get that last one before heading in.

Funny you mention getting pulled over...

The other day when heading over to my Moms house (21 & Hayes; Where it's all messed up from constructions) I stopped at the Rite Aid and picked up a refill on meds. Entered off Hayes and when I left exited out the side on 21 Mile Rd. Go left down her street which is less than 30 seconds after turning out, make it to the stop sign and all of a sudden "lights are a blaz'n in the rear mirror." Pull over, officer gives his name and says, "I'm stopping you for disregarding a traffic light and cutting through a parking lot." I was like what you have to be kidding me, I was just at the Rite Aid and left there. Basicly told him he was wrong, didn't like that. Oh well to bad. Showed him proof of it on the receipt that I had gotten with the time on it. He looks and it and says, "Oh guess I was mistaken, have a good day."

I was like hold on a second there. Took his name and badge number, wasn't happy about that. But again oh well, if you're going to pull someone over for something, especially that you better make damn sure that the person was and has commited that infraction. Long story short reprted him to his captin, captin called back and apoligized several times.......

Re: got pulled over today

Good going, Jeff.

Peace officers shold be held accountable to the public they serve. If you had not said anything, you would have gotten a ticket, then spent time & money just to have the officer "witness" seeing your "infraction". His testimony probably would hold more weight, Now, with documented proof, his testimony in future courts may not hold as much weight, which is right and proper, given his prior mistake...

You might have helped the next poor schmuck that gets unfairly ticketed by that officer. Hopefully he improves his powers of observation in the future.

Re: got pulled over today

yeah that sucks. thas one reason I prefer my cars a little quieter then louder. less attention from the 5 0 is better. it'd be real easy to replace the mufflers w/some not so loud mufflers. thats sucks john, I feel for ya.

Re: got pulled over today

Fight it!!!!!!!!! Call the court and get a date then call the police station every day for a week and ask for the officer and find the day he is off then reschedule your court day on his day off. Also show the judge your belt squeals and get some quieter mufflers or stuff yours full of steel wool for the court day! Also..wear a suit and be polite! Steven

Re: got pulled over today

he only gave me a warning on the exhaust. the other two he gave me civil infractions. which i was doing absolutely nothing wrong. the belt just keeps getting looser and looser its strechted beyond belief now. so it squils all the time. im going to vid tape the squeel. but yeah i was thinking the steel wool one. and just tell them they are high flow cats i dont have muflers. at the same tim there was a beater a$$ car next to me which had a louder exhaust i coldnt hear mine over his. but i get pulled over what it is is a jealous cop.i mean HE walked away grinning and gave me a smart *** comment as he walked away.

Re: got pulled over today

I hate cops like that. What an ***. Sorry to hear about that, John, that blows. Only gotten pulled over twice by the pigs.

Once was for going 60 in a 40... I was in the company van and thought it'd be funny to speed past a slo-stang. Well, the cop didn't think it was that funny. Granted, I didn't tell him but he pulled me over and gave me a ticket for 50 in a 40. Fought it, saying that I was in a vehicle that is not my daily driver and that it was an unfortunate mistake that I was not aware of the speed due to the height (won't feel it as much as the lower sitting Camaro), basically was told it's my job to pay attention (ah well, it was worth a shot haha)

Second time was for having 35% tint on the side windows... even though there was a ricer next to me with limo tint all the way around. Was driving to my grandma's with my mother in the passenger seat and the cop pulls me over and thinks I'm doin weed or something just because I have tinted windows. Told me I had to have them removed, so I remove them and go to the Sterling Heights popo office, walk up to the front desk and hand the ticket, the pig says "You take the tint off?" and I said "Yeah, much to my disagreement" (said it with a nice tone, not a snotty one) he laughed and said "Yeah, most cars look better with them, but it's the law" signed the ticket and then handed it back... didn't even look at the effin car. So, moral of that story... if you ever get a tint ticket, try getting away with having them sign it without removing it.

Re: got pulled over today

You guys crack me up with this stuff. What you fail to realize is that cops aren't robots, so they are going to screw up too. Nobody is perfect on this board, so how can you bash on somebody that is trying to do their job. Everyone wants to complain about cops until you need them, then they can't get there fast enough. If you hate them so much, don't call them next time you need help. Just my 0.02.

Re: got pulled over today

yeah he gave it away lol. sure they arent perfect but why write a ticket for something someone did not do? thats wrong. not error. he knew i did not do it. he wrote the ticket for bs. which ranks his ability as a human being at the bottom of the shyt list. if u ask me. hes down there with micheal jackson. im not letting it go either. im fighting it. and monday when i drive my car weathe rpending to work ont he same route. if i get pulled over again by the same cop im filing for harrassment.
this punk *** cop needs to learn a lesson imo. its not right to write someone for something they did nothing of. when in doubt kick it out. common sense i look over wile im driving see the cop look in his eyes. keep driving.
stop a light roll forward on green after semin in front goes alt. belt whines from beeing loose. cop gets behind pulls me over loud exzhaust get a ticket for unsafe start following too close and loud exhaust was a warning.
I started safely. i was over 2 cars behind hte semi i could se the driver in his mirrors which menas i wasnt close at all. and he could see me. so why write a bogus ticket? IMO this cop is a hater of some kihnd. hes a profiling SOB PROFILING IS ILLEGAL. Just because its a sports car doesnt mean its an *** hole behind the wheel. just becaue myu past record is bad doesnt mean i did somehting now.
Its retarted. im fighting it. im dropping the ticket off at Towner And Towner tomoro. my attorney will call me later that afternoon to let me know whats going on.
either way i have to pay to deal with the situation but by paying a couple hundred for hiring the macomb county prossecting attorney to be my attorney whcih is what i always do in situations such as this. id rather speend the money which i should never have to spend cuz i did nothing wrong. then spend 2000 more every six montsh for auto insurance. which i def cant afford.

Re: got pulled over today

That sucks about the ticket.Hopefuly you get it sorted out in court(in your favour of course)

I've had a cop pull up beside me at 3am and just stare at me looking for a reason to nail me with somthing. Then a few weeks after than i had him(well it was the same unmarked ford explorer) tail gate me so closely i couldnt see the headlights behind my car trying to push me to speed. He didnt like it when i pulled out and passed somebody at 2km/h over the limit. He pulled out with me and tryed to push me to speed past the car.I pulled back in closely and left him hanging out in the other lane looking like an idiot,so he flew past me then slowed down to 10 under the limit,so i passed him again.haha.

And then there's the case where there was the robbery at that one electronics store where the two people were murdered and the cops didn't respond to the alarm until 2 hours later...
