Good pool places?

OK, so my new GF doesn't like going to bars or clubs (yea, I know), but likes playing pool.

Does anyone know of some good places to play pool that have the least bar-like or club-like atmosphere? Something really laid back? Does such a thing exist? (If not, I suppose any place that's not filled with smoke would be good, because smoke filled places aggravate my allergies)

EDIT: Hmm...looking at the recent board topics here, I suppose I should title my thread "WTB: really laid back pool hall"

I can name a few nice places to go.....

1. Billiards Cafe (Plymoth Rd, Livonia)

2. Ivory Room (Ford Rd, Westland)

3. Electric Stix (Spelling?) (Wayne Rd, Westland)

4. My vote for most laid back place, but a bit of a drive for you. The Michigan Union Pool Room, 2nd floor, MI Union, State Steet, Ann Arbor. Lots of tables, Dirt Cheap and no smoking.

5. My Basement, 9', 1949 Anniversery Brunswick.

Take Care,

Bill

Hmm..I've been to both electric stick and Ivory room, and thought they both had a pretty heavy bar atmosphere. Never been to Billiards cafe though, maybe I should check it out.

Snookers Southgate is the newest/cleanest Snookers around and is only really busy friday/saturday night. Otherwise it's what ever music you program up, big menu, great staff.

Breaktime Billiards in Novi was alright but the 8' tables are lame if you actually care about the game your playing.

Re: Good pool places?

there is a halls billiards on Northline in southgate I think. It sucks but it's a pool hall. Me and my buddies used to go up to Rack n Roll, on sibley. Just take Pelham road south to sibley, make a left, and it's right before fort street on the left hand side. I see your in dbn heights, I'm in dearborn.

And the snookers on southgate is nice. I think it's on dix, right off of eureka.
