what gauge is bouncing all around? maybe I could help you figure out how to test the wire comeing out of the pcm to see what its supposed to be doin. is it the tac? or the speedo? or the fuel level? or all the gauges?
Re: gauges need help
kevin, no actually just heard of that race yesterday. got way too much to do so cant make it. been racing your camaro? PM me if you want to go to milan for the rental on sept. 12. I already got about 4-5 cars to go with me. it'd be fun to line them up huh? I got something for your butt boy. lol.
badasschevy,
I kinda thought you meant the fuel guage from your description. actually, you wont need another cluster at all to test. all you gotta do is disconnect the conn. where it pops out the back seat area just in front of the rear axle. then turn the key on/eng. off and the gauge should go to full. and not bounce at all. if it goes to full but still bounces around then its more then likely in the cluster. but, its very common for GM fuel level senders to get worn spots in the sending unit contacts.
if you still cant figure it out just let me know and we'll figure out a time when you can come up to my dealership and I'll put your car in teh air and figure it out for you. free ofcourse. it'll cost you to fix it, but I can figure out what the problem is for you and you can decide if you want to fix it yourself or pay me to fix it.
