I was there in my Drop top LT1 TA. Lots of cops all over the place. So many that I think I only heard tires sqeal like 2 times.

 

if theres that many cops there its no wonder the city considers cancelling it for budget reasons every year

 

what are you looking to do, race, burnouts with thousands walking around you... ?

it's a cruise. the cops just keep you from being stupid and keep the deliquents from messing up your rides and ruining your time. come on now...

 

that is not what im saying at all. im looking for the event to not be on trial every year because of budget. i wasnt there i dont know how bad it was. But they definitely dont need the entire police force out there like they seem to have every year. Last time i went they had a base set up every half mile like it was some kind of SWAT operation. Things like that cost money. things do need to be kept under control. but an old guy squaking the tires isnt a terrorist threat.

Not only that theyre on a power trip. Last year i was idling along at approximately 8mph in a turn lane (to turn right) and a cop litterally walked RIGHT out in front of my car. Even going that slow I had to stand on the brakes not to hit him. Of course he couldnt apologize to me, but rather he had to run over to my window and scream at me like i had intended murder.
