Thumbs up finally!!!! 12.86 best @ milan tonight

that was cool. I finally got my car into the 12's. got 3 runs in the 12's, prolly about 10 runs for the night. maybe 50 cars or so there. cant wait for the next time the track is rented.
it was great seeing you guys there tonight to. had alot of terrible 60's tonight though. guess thats what Iexpected though. the best ones were in the 2.0s. w/the worst one being a miserable 2.6x I did figure out a good way to get out of the hole though and that my nittos like around 20-22 psi. chris

I thought tracked sucked off the bat and slowly got better. I had never had traction problems and then all of the sudden I was pulling 2.4's on my dr's not my normal 2.0's. Did anyone see my first run on my street tires...I told my dad I would smoke em up good. Just got the tires Monday.

16.068 @ 99.72 on a 3.184 60ft! It sure was fun. Best was 13.667 @ 101.58 on 2.028 (later in night when track was hooking!)... I had a ball and can't wait to go again...Thanks to John? for lending me a deep dish 3/4 socket and wrench to take off my street tires and put on the dr's!! You're the man!

That is good times for a third gen.
How did Jeff with the candy red 3rd gen Z28 do. Jeff borrowed my DR's to try and hook at Milan. I don't think you can hook with slicks there.
I wanted to go but have been sick. I will be adding a few mods over the next few weeks. Hope to run in the mid to high 11. when done. We will see at M7.

Milan SUCKS! Thats about all I have to say! No traction what so ever for me. 2.2 60 foots with BFG drag radials. At Stanton I was getting 1.9 60 foots on bald street tires. Oh well I still had a good time even if My times were SH1TTY. You would think that after modding your times should drop, not go up. After I added an airlid, 3.73 gear, 2600 yank stall converter, and DR's I would run better than last year. I guess not!

I think jeff's best was when i ran him i think it was a 13.3 or 13.4.And that was on his street tires. He was having switch issues. I was on DR's and the 60's were terrible no matter what i did.I think the track was good to start with then got worse.Congrats on your times chris. With some tuning i should be right with you. Steven

ahhh what a night it was....interesting to say the least. alot of camaros, mostly 4thgens although the fastest were 3rdgens. a couple mustangs, one that ran surprisingly well...can't remember seeing any 4thgen hit 12's? very odd night, i was hoping to see more cars; but it was a decent showing.

chris congrats on those times, i wasn't expecting what i saw.......very cool.

traction was a major problem for everyone, my best 60' was a 2.2 major difference between stantons times.

chris, i was unable to use the dr's unfortunately.. i really wanted to, but it just didn't work out for a number of reasons; as it turns out it wasn't that big of a deal as i was getting more or as much as some with dr's.

steve was right, my best was when him and i ran with a 13.45; i was having severe traction problems and couldn't keep my bottle pressure up....went through three toggle switches throughout the night. i'm upgrading to rockerswitches from now on.

overall i was happy, the car picked up a little stock from last mods which should be real good on a better track and i was hitting the same times as my last nitrous attempt with a smaller shot, less bottle pressure, and no traction!!

if it wasn't for the long haul i would have no real complaints. 11 runs, 7 were wins just wish i had better traction and tuned in a little more.

On my 2 runs with traction I went 12's
The rest of my runs spun all the way through first so the car upshifts to second then gets traction. The computer then realizes that is is going 20mph @WOT in second gear so it would kick back down to first......ETC

Had one SEMI-CLEAN run, a 2.09 60FT netted me a 12.69@110

My car was the Pewter Z28 running open headers.....sounded like a fricken 10sec car

I had problems with my car all night, I was the only first generation Camaro running.

Ahh well still bugs to work out, hit mid 11's on 3 passes. after I get suspension and chassis right I should be low 10's or high 9's. can't get the horsepower to the ground for sheeeit.

I had a GREAT time until my last pass when I broke. I'm pretty sure it was my trans but I need to try to get a trailer so I can go back and get the car today. My best pass was 13.4 @ 103. Best mph was 106. 60' was 2.3-2.4 all night since I launch from idle becasue of the IRS. There were quite a few quick f-bods there. I can't wait for the next event!

Glad to hear you guys all had fun. I'm sorry I missed it!!! I'm still p!ssed I couldn't make it. I had to travel to St. Joseph, MI for work yesterday. 3 hours there, 3 hours back for a 2 hour meeting. I got home around 6 pm and still had to finish taking off my catalytic converter and putting the gutted one on. By the time I got done and took the car for a test spin to see how bad things leaked, it was already 8:00 pm.

On a positive note, the passenger side cat doesn't seem to leak even with only 2 nuts holding it on!

Rick - Sorry to hear about your breakage! Did Nick run? I'm curious how his car did.

Cool

Hey guys what's up?

I had a blast last night too. Got about 20 runs in. For me (on street tires) the track seemed to hook up a little early on, then went away, then came back at the end of the night. When I say hook though, I mean in Milan-terms. My 60-foots were between 2.2-2.3, with a rare 2.08.

I stayed between 13.3 and 13.4 most of the night, and then pulled two 13 flats at the end after a longer burnout. So my best run for the night was a 13.017 @ 109. Not what I'd like to see from my mods, but about what I was expecting from Milan. I got a "Milan-baseline" last month before the SLP LT's and FTRA, so it looks like those mods got me about 3 tenths and 3 mph.

We'll be renting it probably sometime this next month again, I'll keep you all posted, and hopefully have my car ready by then too.

BTW, I was there with the black enclosed Noplis racing trailer.
