Got pulled over this morning driving my winter car a 90' Caprice Classic by the Ministry. The said it is a random spot check. That's bull the guy made a U-turn when he say my car.The two guys asked me to pop my hood and check for emmision things like egr, pcv valve, air pump etc... and looked under the car for a cat. What's up with that?

this is just gettin' to be ****ing ridiculous.

just wait till the summertime, holy ****! i think i will be mounting my custom dual cat back in place of the muffler, and drive with the cutout open, hehe! then they can only give me a ticket for, no pcv, or egr. i wonder how much that ticket is.

Taner,
when they spot you their gonna wet their pants.
The egr is easy enough to fake, but why no PCV system?

Taner its $300.00 for the first violation, plus $150.00 for every other violation found on the car.

Example: No cats= $300.00
no EGR+ $150.00
no PCV +$150.00
no A.I.R.+$150.00
Equals no mod money!

Some times if they are nice(not often) they issue a repair order and if you fix it they re-inspect and if everything is in order they let you go.
Both situations happened to friends of mine.

Well, I am no Canadian, but what I want to know is, how is it that the pigs, errr, cops I mean, are qualified to look under the hood and identify anything.

95z-28,

the inspectors are licensed mechanics

i guess iw as lucky when i got the no cat ticket last year. when he popped my hood i am sure it brought a smile to his face. he said he could have taken my car off of the road right then and there due to the number of infractions, lmao!!!!! either way i got jagged for the cats.

transamtom,,
so i am guess i am lucky he merely gave me a tciket for no cats. so there aren't any further repercussions????? or are there????
i haven't gotten any mail or further correspondence (quickly touching wood) i am due for my next test in august, should be interesting with the new cam in the car, lmao!!!!!!!!!!! but i will have a little more control of the pcm

kevin,

my monoblade has no provisions for it that too could be rigged to look real as well as the egr. but i am pooched when it comes to the a.i.r pump.
