Just tossing this out there to see what happends. I've had it over 10 years now and honestly I am bored with it, but I wont give it away.
Car has been completely rebuilt (except for paint) within the last 3-4 years. Pretty much everything is new.
1980 z28
Black interior-Hurst console Quarterstick, custom seats (Mopar), billet ***** & switches, 5" tach, 130 speedo, Alpine CD deck, Pioneer speakers (not a thumper, its just tunes), extremely nice inside. It does need a headliner, I took the old one out to recover it & just havent done it yet.
Body-
Just look at the pics for color
very nice Dupont paint/clearcoat, harwood 4" pin on hood. It has rust starting on the lower/bottom drivers side fender & the passengers rocker panel/front of rear quarter (by the ground effect). Still presentable, but these will need to be addressed someday. Underneath is clean & rust free, great floors & frame. Firewall is smoothed, has small underdash heater from Vintage Air.
Suspension-
SSM lift bars, poly bushings, subframe connectors, rear drag shocks, KYB up front. Metco driveshaft loop, 10 bolt posi, 3.23 rear gears. Corvette rally wheels with brand new 275/50/15 BFG drag radials, also have a spare set of tires mounted on rally's for street driving. (6 wheels/tires together).
Engine-
383 4 bolt
10.5:1, Speed Pro pistons, 5.7 rods
Dart Iron Eagle heads, 215cc intake runner, 2.05/1.6 Manley stainless valves, Comp roller rockers, Trick flow pushrods, custom Isky solid cam, Comp lifters, valley tray, Dart Kool Can dual plane intake, modified edelbrock 750 carb, 5" K&N air cleaner, Cast Wysco valve covers & matching aircleaner, Cranes new street strip distributor, Holley ignition box, Accel coil, Griffin radiator, electric & mechanical fans,Carter electric & mechanical fuel pumps, Hooker Comp headers, 2 1/4" full exhaust with H-pipe-car is not loud.
Nitous express Hit Man kit (100-200hp), botttle heater, purge, blowdown tube,it all passes tech. Car is legal to 11.49 IHRA, 12.00 NHRA
Th350 trans (fresh), 2400 B&M converter.
Have reciept for everything, can prove anything stated. Motor has only been sprayed 4 times at the track, really needs a cage to be using any more than a 100hp shot. Runs 12.60 at 107+ in street driven form, has run 11.70 at 115 on a small shot of nitrous (before the purge & heater were added). Engine has a total of 42 passes on it, was checked last winter & given clean bill of health.
Car is totally street driveable. I drive 45 minutes to the track, take the trim rings off & run mid 12's on the engine. Slap the rings back on & pass the trailer racecars on the way home, how much fun is that
With some stickier tires it would be a lot better, I just like the BFG drags. Get crazy & put some gears in it, it may hit 11's on the engine alone.
$7000/may sell as a roller. If youve got an interesting trade hit me up, something fun to drive? F-Bodies, Mustangs, Old Pontiacs? Will be at Martin on friday if interested.
