F bodies in steady decline in used car market
Consumer spending in general has declined over the last two months with june falling even alittle further. Hell they just started offering rebates of $5000 and $6000 on some of the 04 inventory at ford and gm this week!.
you know what that dose to the used car market...
kills it no matter what "body" it is.
People with "desposible" income are holding on to it in these times were living in.

The whole rebate thing is a bunch of bean-counter bullsh!t. They mark the vehicles up $3k-$5k then give you a rebate. Kind of like just lowering the price? Why play games with peoples minds and make them think they're getting something for nothing?

C4 prices are still kinda high. For what you can get a C5 for, some people are nuts with what they want for them.

I went to a dealer to help pick out a car for my girlfriend and I couldn't believe how high prices are on GM cars/trucks. Just for the heck of it I priced out a new Z71 pickup and even with GMS I can still get a Dodge truck cheaper, I don't know what rebates they have. It seems with camaros that they are either babied and kept nice or driven year round and abused, the market for f-bodies all depends on how nice the car is.
A year ago tried to sell my '99Z m6 w t's 45k no one would even call @ 12.5K. Had just purchased a '00 SS with 10k less miles M6 w/o t's. Sold the SS for 5K more in two weeks after f&^% around with the '99 for 2 months. The SS is so cool, I guess.
Most discontinued cars drop like a stone in resale.
The prices on the early z's I think are going up a little though.

No, hasn't been out in a few years. Needs a battery and a oil change, hahahaha. Red with a few brown spots. Want to get some things done on it first before driving it. One color and water tight with heat would be a start. Really isn't that bad just old.
How did your friends camaro turn out with mods. Get the tune right.
Just purchased a comp cam 216/220, let the mods begin. Then the '75, just think it would be fun to have a 12 sec car once. (12.99)

That is low miles for a 97 Chad. But the problem is, as soon as you get up over $8000, people are looking at 98 LS1 cars.
It took me 7 months to sell my 02 WS6 Trans Am for $22500, black 6 speed with every option and only 9000 miles. So the thought of some people that a nice 02 will hold its value just isnt happening in the midwest.

Jack, do you think the amount of modifications would help any in the price I should ask?
The car has a McLeod Street Twin clutch, fully rebuild T-56 with Viper output shaft, Denny's Nitrous Ready driveshaft, and Moser 12 bolt rearend with 4.10 gears.
I was hoping to get between 12k & 14k for the full package of the car, custom fit car cover, laptop with programming software, complete NX wet kit with the Gen X upgrade and remote bottle opener, second set of wheels with ET streets, and a brand new low profile tranny jack.
I just have to get the tranny rattle fixed, if I can't fix it I'm going to take it to D&D and have them fix it.

Its going to be tough to get the mod money back out of it. I notice a lot of people try to put the car back to stock and sell off the mods. Then its easier to sell the car for a lower price.
