EVI's New Project - 2010 Camaro SS

Stan Boyd's post on Motown Muscle about the project.

Started a new project with the help of Hank Graff Chevrolet in Davison.

Acquired a 2010 Camaro SS from Hank Graff to install my own performance package to sell at the dealership. Very cool stuff right now! So I decided to document my details with photos and videos and small write-ups. Hope you all enjoy.

As soon as I drove it to the shop, we put it on the dyno to start playing with it. Eventually squeezed out 405rwhp / 426rwtq. Not too shabby!

Some video of the dyno pull.

Pretty happy so far with these results with tuning on the car.

Next on the list is American Racing headers, which I should have done soon.

Then a Magnuson supercharger setup!

I'll post dyno results after the American Racing exhaust work and then more dyno results after the Magnuson supercharger setup. Feel free to ask questions. I will try to check the board as often as I can. Pretty busy around the shop lately. Thanks.

Also, my web guy, 91Bird305, did a writeup on my website about it. With more pictures, updates, details, videos, etc. More stuff then I could write and post media then I could here. He did a nice job. Check it out.

Thanks Motown! 2

Any word on how the dealership is handling the warranty on the "Dealership available option"?

Are they willing to work with customers who buy the package through them, or is it just like one would expect, and warranty-be-gone?

Wait, 405rwhp with just a tune? Or were there some aftermarket parts installed? Is that an auto or a manual?

I would assume a manual, as alot of the auto's haven't been showing numbers that match the advertised power ratings.

But that number does seem really good even for a stock LS3 if there are no mods. most have been in the 380's with no tune, so 20+ from a tune is nice. I was thinking full headers/exhaust, and a cold air with a tune should net somewhere around 450ish rwhp. And if more is needed, a cam would be next, with a blower last on the list due to warranty issues....I really like the idea of the 5yr/100,000 mile warranty. But that's a long time to keep my grubby mits off the car. But i'm still holding out for a year or so, so they can work out the bugs, and offer some different options. I never buy the first year, look what they did with the GTO's.

Just a tune. I believe it's a manual.

No cam or internal work can be done if it's going to be a sold at a dealership from what I understand. All the parts have to be emission legal also.

Little update on this today.

Results are in for the American Racing headers!

Started bone stock at - 380hp / 394tq

After some dyno tuning - 405hp / 426tq

Now after the American Racing headers we pushed out 427hp / 453tq.

Some video of the dyno run.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l148wff-SXM

Pictures of the install.

So far I'm pretty impressed. Here is the dyno sheet from the last pull.

Car is responding nicely to these modifications. I look forward to getting this Magnuson supercharger running and see what it puts down after that. Stay tuned.

Also, more details about the install and more at the site. Thanks again to 91Bird305 for the site work.

You can call Hank Graff to find out more. I am not 100% sure.

(810) 653-4111‎ is their number or you can call EVI @ 810-407-0956

Question

Nice project involving the new Camaro, and I truly like the way you are documenting the performance gain from each modification as you make it, but .............. something is WRONG with the dyno chart data you're presenting.

The torque and horsepower numbers you're showing must cross at 5,252 RPM and NOT at (aproximately(?), what) 4,750 RPM like you're showing. Maybe is just a "scaling" factor that's off, or you're mis-measuring what RPM the motor is really at, but, trust me, something is WRONG here. It would lend a LOT more credibility to the numbers you're showing here if you could "straighten" out this little problem.

I was there too, and I saw at least one supercharged 2010 SS, but I missed seeing it driving around.

Ya I got stuck cruisin next to it in my 95 Impala SS . I told them that I saw the build up on it online, and they looked confused. I saw the red one in the pics. It has supercharged badges on the cowl of the hood now.
