Engine Builder?

Anyone know a good engine builder in the Michigan area? I need to find a good engine builder in Michigan for my 396 project.......i was going to try myself---but I think it's better to have a professional do it.....plus with all the tools i would need to buy it would prob cost more in the end. What are some things to look for? I need a reliable build......not one i have to rebuild every year.....I have heard horror stories of engines needing rebuild one year later. To tell you the truth i am scared.....lol. All that time and money i want to make sure it's done right Even if it costs quite a bit more

How serious do you want your motor to be? I know a few good guys. Check out Protechperformance.com . He builds my motors. Taners guy down in Windsor sounds good as well. Do your research and you will find the guy that is right for you. Vince

I highly recommend Brian Thompson at Thompson Automotive in Redford.

Give us a call over at APE we are very familiar with 396LT1 build-ups and could give you a few different packages to choose from.

Another vote for Protech. John (the owner) used to race pro 5.0 and built his own motors. That says a lot!
