Re: Dyno Tuning for a carb
I tried to get mine done and could not find anyone who knew enough about carbs to do it. I think all of those guys are dead now. It is just like trying to find an actual mechanic, and not a parts changer. Not many "mechanics" can actually troubleshoot a carbed car anymore because the computer cannot tell them what part to change. Good luck, and if you find someowne who is proficient please post the name and number, there are many people out there that need this service.

Re: Dyno Tuning for a carb
We have plenty of experience tuning carbed vehicles. In fact we just had a vehicle on the dyno last week that we picked up 50rwhp on motor alone.

tuning a carb car is easier in a way alot less things to deal with. but its harder because its still a variable. it varries from time to time. and what not. a computer controlled car is basically just tune and good to go hardly need to retune. a carb u can spend alot of time tuning it right. compared to a program that does it for you. Im going to tune mine while i brake in the cam basicaly set the idle and everything. then once i get it broke in. and get a couple hundred on the clock. im going to street tune it. basically use my *** dyno(gotta recalibrate it) and tune it at the track and on the road. for optimal use. for exact real road conditions.
You should look into investing in an LM1 Wideband Oxygen Sensor. Install an O2 bung in your exhaust (can be plugged when not tuning) and plug the controller into your 12v cig. lighter. Then, you could tune it yourself. It might be worth it so you could adjust for the changes in weather that we frequently see in this region. Also, I have an extra LMA-2 RPM converter (never used) that I could sell you that will work with the LM1, which would let you log RPM with AFR too.
