Dyno or tuner in area?

I am installing some LT headers and ORY on my 99 Z28. Those are basically the only mods right now other than a lid. I was wondering where I should take it to have a quick dyno tune and what the costs are at different tuner shops around SE Mich. I have heard some good and bad things about CARS.

My other option is to buy HPtuners but then I will need a wideband, etc and still have to take it to a dyno to see if it increases. I'm debating this depending upon how much a dyno tune is.

I second this!!! My dad had three waisted transmissions in his vette. Took it to another local tuner and he found the problem (the tune). Problem solved, no more waisted trans.

I have heard good and bad too. No really a professional person or shop. My opinion.

Well that is enough negative feed back to rule out CARS. Who do you guys reccomend? How much should I expect to pay for a basic dyno tune? I just need a fairly basic tune with my little mods.

Anyone here have good experiences with using hptuners? Self tuning or downloading a tune is my other option.

I haven't used HP Tuners but need to get it for myself.

You're looking at around $400 where ever you go. Chunky for so little changes.

Livernois is a good shop, so is Vector Motorsports.

Vector would get my vote if I needed a tune again.

you can always try LJ at qicsan. just saw him at milan the other day and he is still tuning. never had anything done by him, but he seems like a stand up guy who knows his stuff.

Vector does all the tuning for Katech. Kirk leases his building from them.
