Ya, thats where a couple of us got together last year as well...what about the band shell parking lot, it is huge but not right off fort...i dont think that will be a good area..do u? i was also thinking that southgate lincoln merk. has a big parking off to the side, i may be able to see if thats avail. I was also thinking about yum yum off of emmons..that might work too..but it is a smaller parking lot..., save more (form. farmer jack, off of champ.) might work too...there are alot of places if we can just pick out a good one...flexivity would be a good spot too right in that kmart area...I think that we sould go no further than kmart and flexivity..,and in the opposite direction no further than champ., because most people stay in between those areas!

In the Meijer parking lot we usually go in front of the gas station along the front that is right along Fort. I don't know how many cars we had lined up there, but you can get quite a few.

The merc dealer might not be too bad of an option. I know it has a huge empty lot next to it. (or did last I looked lol and I live here)

I agree with the 2 final points, a lot of people turn around early becasue it is dead if you go much farther in either direction.

the manager at Flexivity name is Jeff

I used to work for him when it was still down the street and just a quick lane

P.S>, I think it is still owned by SG Linc Merk

well if anyone has conections with larger lots that would be great. i really don't think flexivity will be open to f-bodys or cars of that nature in their lot. typically they have imports there much like last year when we set up for S3 magazine.

the ideal location would have a "decent" lot meaning not alot of potholes as well as an accessable enterance and exit if possible off the main drag or close to it.

i wasn't able to walk the whole strip last year but i know that little corner where flexivity is was quite busy from 9 am on.....if anyone could help with a little legwork i have no problem coming in and doing a follow up with any of the managers/owners.

the easiest thing to do is to walk in and speak with the shift manager/owner......just ask what their plans are for the cruise and if their parking lot is available. i know on woodward they charge everyone but i'm not sure how they do it for the downriver cruise. one way or another we really don't have any more time to set this up so it needs to be done as soon as possible....

Flexivity, SG Lincoln Merk, and SG Ford are all owned by the same person..I happen to know the CEO of SG Lincoln Merk and i may be able to get us that lot next to them..but i was told that they do not own that anymore...that the city owns it...plus its not a good lot (condition wise)!

That would always be nice but i dont think we could find a spot that has decent cement, and large enough for all cars! If we do not do it in the KMART or Meijer Parking lot, i dont think we will have that lux. of both good condition and good size...i will go again to lincoln merk and see if we can set up there...mabe they can move there stock for that day or something...but i will do that only if that would be a spot that people would want to be at...

when i mean a bad lot i'm not saying it has to be perfectly level. just not something our cars will sink into you know. just about anything i saw in that area was fine. it's just nicer if you can have something that would give us good parking right off the strip and a chance for some to go out and cruise while coming back after a bit.

if you know someone in any lot...i don't care where it is so long as it's in the general "busy" part of where the cruise is that will allow a decent number saying 10-15 cars for sure that would be great. doesn't matter to me wether it's a honda dealership or a hardware store as parking is parking but most of the dealerships last year had cars that were oriented to their own.

also just as a point of reference depending on who you talk to those in question like to know your not going to be bringing alot of trouble. wherever this is done it will be patroled and kept clean and they should know that. if we can get something together with all of us that would be great but we'll see how it goes. so far i have 10 cars for sure plus my own with 2 being exotics so we should have a very nice assortment too.

For me - I need to stick near the K-Mart. We got three kids that need to be entertained . They usually have a big slide there.

I will come visit where you find a spot.

I just bought a New Mountaineer from SG Lincoln Merc. and as of
Friday the lot as I remember it was fine, no contsruction or anything. I do remember that there was work being done at Pennsylvania Rd. and it was a mess.

that could be a problem, how far was that north or south of flexivity. if there is construction of the main drag that may be a problem unless its finished by then which we all doubt.

did you know someone personally there which is why you bought that vehicle or was it just where you went? if your interested in bringing your car out as well maybe since you've already had contact you could talk with someone there just to see their availability.

Ok, for the heck of it I called my salesman and asked if he had any info regarding the lot. He talked to his salesmanager and there is already a "few" car clubs (Roman Chariots was mentioned) that have the lot reserved. He did say however that after 10am Saturday if there were any openings left that I was welcome to them. Make of that what you will, because I would imagine by 10 the place would be filled. When you think of it would you want a bunch of F-bodies sitting in a Ford dealership?

true but also understand that a good handful of cars coming down with me aren't f-bodys. we have 2 saleens, stag2 and 3 roush, 1 new cobra, 1 new c-6, diablo, possibly a ferrari as well mixed in to all of that and all of the cars are either magazine features or autorama winners so i doubt they will matter what make they are as they will bring plenty of attention.

i really don't care where the place is but i would like somewhere that we could be able to park that is somewhat in relation to the cruise and would allow access for some to go out and come back if they want. it would be nice to have a gas station or store nearby as well.

as i said any info you guys can get would be great, if anything just getting some numbers so that i could call for everyone would be fine too.
