I am having one of each shipped to me right now!!! j/k. I'd love to blow away cobras and ricers and pretty much anything with a blown ls1 caprice or lumina or what about that el camino looking thing, I've seen one before at a show but I can just imagine driving a 405 hp mini truck! Gee I wonder why GM has to s-crew us over with cars like our lumina's!

Reason 1.
Because people in this country have been mislead into believing that front wheel drive cars are safer to drive.
Reason 2.
Damn special interest groups crying that v-8 engines make too much pollution and waste our precious fossil fuels.

There was a Monte SS LS1 rear wheel drive with a M plate at the Harper cruise.
I find it funny that no one can get thro the winter with a rear wheel drive car. I grew up in the 70's driving rear wheel drive muscle cars with 410 gears. I would drop the air pressure down to like 20 psi and drive from the east side to the west side. I don't think I missed a weeks work in 3 years. Three days of that was because of a blow trans. I am not saying it was easy just everybody did it.

Both vehicles managed big smoky burnouts and quarter-mile runs of little more than 15 seconds

GM's US line-up may change in the next few years due to the fact that Diamler-Chyrsler is ending the LH line of cars (Intrepid, LHS,Concorde,300M) in 2003(this is the last year for the LH)and going to the LX line in 2004, which may(probably will) have some of the same names, but will be rear wheel drive, at least some of which will be avalible with the new 5.7L Hemi V8

No offence, but I cannot agree. I believe that the reason you won't see cars like those here, is that GM does not believe they will be profitable in this country. The fact is that the trend in this country is toward SUV's, Minivans, and pickup trucks. And they make more money per unit on them. I hate to say it, but I can see why they are doing it. As long as soccer mom's run this country, this will be the way things will go.

What's even more sick is that all of those cars are made by Holden is Australia. The same people who are building the GTO. Check out their website. Holden Specialty Vehicles
