Im in the process of opening my new shop on 8 mile in Livonia right now and had though about stocking F-Body parts but wasnt sure if they would move as quiclky as the import parts im currently selling.

I can get hooker headers, granatelli mafs, eibach coils, hypertechs, wings west spoilers/hood/gfx, Autometer gauges,K&N filters, powerdyne super chargers, NX kits, NOS kits, ZEX nitrous kits, Edelbrock Nitrouse kits, lingenfelter manifolds, jet fan switches,Accel products, lunati cams, Crane Cams,Centerforce Clutches,Powerstob Rotors, Energy Suspension products,Lakewood suspension products, B&M shifters, Hurst Shifters...and many other lines

I can pick up more if the interest is there but I cant go start stocking all of these products until I know they will move...

If you guys think it would be benificial ill start picking up stock but I dont want to do any of the installs... I doubt ill stock any superchargers or some of the other high priced parts but stuff like lowering springs, MAFs, K&N intakes and lids, and other stuff like that i can hold a few at a time..

Post your interest and ill see what i can do.

Where on 8 mile are you? I'm sure once the word gets out that you are there people will start showing up. I know I will. There use to be a Super Shops on Grandriver and 8 Mile that was packed all the time. They had the murry's number system going and there were always 8 or 10 people waiting to get helped!!I don't know why they closed down. .. I live in that area and sometimes it a PITA to drive to Plymouth Rd. Ramchargers to get something.

I think if you stock some f-body and mustang stuff you would do pretty good business in your location!!

If hes cheaper than Ramchargers I'll start shopping there, even if things are a couple of bucks cheaper. Plus hes a board member. But don't blame me if I have the urge to pick on some of your import customers. Hell maybe it'll make business that much better for ya.

I'll use your store even if your a little higher than Ramchargers..
I'd rather help out a small shop thats a member of the board than a big shop that really doesn't care whether you buy from them or not...JMO

Ws6cott,
I live right down the street from your shop at 8mile and Farmington rd. I've seen your WS6 our front but never had the time to stop.. What are the shop hours there??? I'll have to stop by and check it out.

Actually Ramchargers is a Sponsor on this board.
The Moderators of the Michigan board PhantomTa and HotrodHawk are Ramchargers employees.
We do care whether our not people buy parts from us. If we didn't I dont think we would of been around this long (over 30 years) Last time I checked you need to be a sponsor in order to drum up business on this site.
I am not Flaming anyone here I just wanted to be heard.

Kevin,
Its not that we don't like to go to ramchargers.... But, you guys are pretty much the only guys in town. And being the only ones in town the prices can sometimes be a little high (can you say a little "mark-up" due to no competition locally). All and all I wish there were more places I could go in the area to get performance parts (shop around, Price mach)... Thats all.

All items that we stock are the same price as Summit and Jegs.
We also match others, which is part of our mail order pricing structure.
We have one employee that makes sure the prices are inline with the big Mail order shops out there. I have seen some differences of a buck or two but nothing huge.

Cool

Ya, in defense of Ramchargers(I'm also an employee there), anyone who thinks we aren't price competitive hasn't been in a store in 2-3 years. Almost every part on the shelf is within $1 of Summit or Jegs, and we match most any price that's not. Again, not to rain on anyone's parade or anything.

Oh, and yes, we do care whether you shop at our stores. A 5 store retail chain is hardly what I'd call a huge business. We are local only, always have been, likely always will. We're always willing to spend time with the customer answering questions/concerns. IF you deal with someone who isn't, you should let his manager know.

*rant over*

The only thing that bugs me about Ramchargers is the fact that most everything I need is never in stock.

Sorry, but i have to think thats why every time I go in one of the stores I end up waiting 10-15 minutes for a salesperson. They're too busy talking shop with the customers and not paying attention to the other 10 people waiting for help. Not only that, but I couldn't just go to the next shop down the street because there is none. Sorry if this offends anyone but its just my $.02 about Ramchargers. Oh, and I used to work there 12 years ago. Sterling Heights store- when there was one. Which brings up another point. I have to drive 10 miles to the nearest location I'd personally rather mail order and have the parts there in a few days at my door than go and wait in line only to have to ORDER the parts I want anyhow.
