Congrats To Dennis (WHPLASH) On A New PB

Went to Milan today and had perfect weather for racing. I'll let him post the details but DAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMM it was fast!

Another season of sitting in long lines only to get a few runs in over for the season. Actually, today was excellent. Lots of cars but you could get a ton of runs in.

The prep at Milan was damn near perfect.

60ft 1.61
330ft 4.4278
1/8th 6.76
1/8th 105.15
1/4th 10.48
1/4th 132.73

Previous best with no changes 10.90 @ 124.5

Thanks Bill for coming to watch. It was a perfect day. I made a total of 3 runs. Nothing broke, new best and drove it home in one piece. Gotta love it.

I ran a big fat 0 since my car is sitting in the driveway with a suspected (almost positive) blown head gasket.

I am going to figure out what to do with it. I would love to drop in a 402/403 but money is the issue.

So, I may just end up having the gasket fixed and use ARP head bolts or studs. Then while it's apart I will stick in a bigger cam to help take advantage of the ported Fast 92mm intake and 92mm TB.

The current cam is: 228/228 576/563 on a 113

The shortblock has forged pistons with 4cc reliefs. So, I would hope I can get a fairly big cam to work. Maybe a mid 230s on both sides and 610ish on the lift side. I would still stay with a 113 for idle control. I was told this may net a 20+ rwhp gain with the ported Fast?

Al, what size cam is yours?

That's a serious improvement! Congrats on a good day. For me, they are rare..haha

That sucks Bill.. fix it and drive the wheels off of it. Looks like a good combo to me. Al's is a touch bigger.

228/236 .598/.588 114 ground 2 degrees advanced with 1.70 rockers. I'm running it with 1.75 rockers which stretches the duration a little and adds about .017 to the lift.

Thanks

When I have the head gaskets done I decided I should put in a bigger cam. Heck, if I can pick up 20RWHP/20RWTQ why not. The car will be apart and all I need to buy is the cam and pushrods. The pistons have the 3cc reliefs so I should be able to get away with something fairly big I would think.

Some have said I may see as much as 30RWHP/TQ because of the new 92mm ported Fast intake and 92mm TB? From what I have been reading the cam I have is not optimal size for the intake.

Although I did see a nice gain from these two items. Seat of the pants in way better.

hell yeah D. Im impressed. one of these days I'll talk you into getting a 9" and some 3.90's or 4.10's and get that thing into the low 10's easy. and pulling the front end in the air. your car has alot of potential, seeing as how its a PIG still. no weight saving tricks anywhere. SH#T, you prolly still got the spare in there, dont you?

nice to see some the oldtimers in here. whats up all you guys?

Chris, you about ready to tear it apart? I am thinking of sending it to you on Monday. Trying to figure out the $$$ side of things.

Had my eyes on these heads too.
