Comp Cams Cam and valve-springs for sale. LT1/L98/etc.

The cam that was in my 383 is for sale.

Comp LT-1 Xtreme Energy Cam
Dur@.050 236-242 Lift .521-.540 (.556-.576 w/1.6 rockers) LSA 112

Has around 500-600 miles on it. It's in perfect condition.

It will work in any 87-up chevy roller-lifter block (LT1, L98, etc.).

Made great power N/A. I went 120mph in the 1/4 in a 3800# car. Idles good, and sounds awesome.

$175/firm

Comp Cams 987-16 valve-springs. Correct springs for this cam. Also in great condition with same miles on them.

$50

how well would this cam work on an otherwise stock L98? Also, how does a cam designed for a short runner LT1 work with the long runners on a TPI motor? I'm not doubting you that it won't, it jsut dosen't make sense to me that the same valve open/closing events would work well for the hugly different induction styles.

Red,
The TPI intake is "tuned" actually to work with a stock duration cam or one that is only slightly larger. Extra lift will definately help produce more overall power but too much duration(intake especially) causes the "tuned" effect to weaken and airflow is seriously disrupted on it's way to the engine. The rpm range of this cam is also beyond what a TPI(or any long runner) intake can keep up with.

Now this cam matched with an aftermarket intake manifold with shorter intake runners would be good. Holley's Stealth Ram, the MiniRam from TPIS, or SuperRam from Accell would allow your 350 to take advantage of this cam. Then again, so would a set of great heads.

GM's Slogan for TPI: "Less is more. Less rpm, fewer horsepower, fewer buyers, etc,etc..."Goodluck

Thanks danny for the info, that pretty much confirms what I thought would be the case for my car. As far as a wish list goes, I have been thinking about getting the Vortec/ SD combination, the World Products Torquers or some (weight saving) aluminum heads. I also need to invest in headers too, one of my non-thirdgen friends actually shuddered visibly when he saw the exhasut manifolds! Anyone have suggestions? I'm thinking some ceramic coated shorties would work, but since eveyone says theirs makes the most HP I cant really see a HP difference.

Red89GTA: I meant that it would physically work in an L98 engine. I wouldn't reccommend it for a near-stock L98 though.

Trousersnake: Obviously it would benefit more with ported heads, but it will still get you a lot with stock ones. I believe Trey is running this cam with stock heads. I have no clue what you might run with the combo, since all cars are different, but you'd definitely gain some good power. Probably have the potential for mid-low 12s, depending on other factors(car weight, driver, tires, etc.).
And yes, the 120 was N/A. Of course, that was with a 383 and ported heads.

Man if you no one else get it thats mine. I just need to come into some money since im in between jobs.

just for an Idea My car ran

13.666 @ 105.2 with only 3.73, k&n cold air, and cut out

since then I have added. 2800 stall, shift kit, hpp+(for the speedo) hyperstat 160, I ripped out all the emisions, and bought some Drag raidials.

If that will help any one will to take a wack at what it will run with this cam and 1.6's take a shot. I wont have enough to get the hooker lt's till i get some money coming in.

Anyone have any sound files of this cam? I wanna hear it
