Chipped my front tooth

Today when I came home from school I was sitting down taking my shoes off and my dog leaped up hit his head on the bottom of my chin and chipped off a part off my front tooth.

Im not covered under my parents Insurance anymore. Is there any alternatives to walking around looking like a @sshole with the front tooth. I dont have a Job yet I only had my Lisence back for 2 days. How long do you have to work at a place in order to get dental insurance? Its really sharp and i cant quit feeling it with my tongue its driving me nuts.

How big is the chip? Generally speaking you don't want to let it go too long before the Dentist takes a look at it. The goal is to try to avoid stress or more shock to the tooth that could damage the nerve. That could lead to the need for a root canal which is the least fun alternative.

I actually cracked off about 1/3 of one of my molars this winter when I bit into a candied almond. Ouch. They leveled it off and put on a permenant crown. I want to say the whole procedure was about $800 including two trips to put the temporary crown and get measured for the permenant one, then put the permenant one on. Out the door with insure was like $80. I'm guessing a root canal would be less than twice that amount.

Try to avoid anything too hot or too cold until you can get to the dentist. That will help keep the tooth less stressed because there might be some hairline fractures in there too.

Things to consider for cheaper alternative would be to contact one of the dental schools like U of M. They may offer reduced or even free care to come in and get worked on by students. This fix may be more complex then they are willing to do, but it would not hurt to find out.

Look for a dental school in your area. usually you can get the work for free from a student and the do the work supervised.

then you be like this guy

Sorry man, that sucks. I think you need to work full time to have dental. but when you get it, it doesnt matter when you chipped it, you can get it taken care of. I just got 4 fillings! I hate the dentist!

Make sure when you get it fixed you get the gold tooth. I always wanted a gold tooth in front. You know when your girl friend says to bite her you don't want to bite the ni---- ring.

Tooth

U know what would probably work really well and not cost u alot. JB Weld. It will stick to anything. I used it to fix some holes I drilled in a vent pipe. Worked great. I'll bet it would fix that tooth too.
