Thumbs up car shows

I know alot of you are into bench racing and talking about cars but how many of you are actually into attending shows with your cars? i'm not talking the typical 30 min walk through and lets call it a day show but somewhere you could hangout that wouldn't leave you in front of a monitor.

a few of us are working on some plans for a very nice setup this spring to kick off the 04' season and i'm looking to see what kind of interest there is from the domestic side. this of course would be an evening show starting min 5-6pm and running til the late hours with bands, side shows, and eating on a larger scale then usually seen around here. this event will have some typical car show theatrics but it won't be based purely on how nice your car is. mainly a event to attend but you bring your car for the day too.

i'm also going to need some help so any of you who are interested in helping out please let me know. i'm waiting on a few permits and then we'll start on the real legwork.

Hey Jeff, I would be there for sure. If I can help with somthing small, that I have enough time for, I certainly will. With the new baby being here by then I don't know how much time I'm going to have.

That sounds like it would be pretty cool, kinda like in the Fast and the Furious or something. Minus all of the imports and the street racing or... at least maybe.

well the location is up in the air as permits for mt.clemens have been really hard to work. right now i have one in for royal oak and pontiac so we'll see what happens.

anyone who might know of a really large parking lot that could become available either through work or else please let me know too as a back up location would be good. i would like to keep this north of the river if possible.

as far as the types of vehicles: in order to keep things at a high attendence there is a high probability that all vehicles will be invited. not only making for a more interesting event but any time you keep a certain group out it hurts the event more then helping.

also, there is a very good chance that you will have to pay a small amount to come to this event but it will be kept very low and all of the proceeds will be going to area charites.

suggestions or helpful ideas are welcome so please feel free to post here or email me.
