Hey Guys after lurking for a while and basically getting addicted to this site I finally registered! See my mods in my sig. and now I want to do a cam upgrade. Anyone know of a reputable shop that you can reccomend? I got a shop to quote me a price of $1200 complete parts & labor. I am on the west side and this shop is in Allen Park. Any suggestions?

I can do the install for ya for $350 labor. that would include cam, springs, vavle seals, and what ever else you plan on doin while its apart. (timing chain, roller rockers, push rods, sp. plugs, ?)I can come up w/a list of parts needed if you give me some time and the cam you plan on installing. Im also assuming your eng. is stock internally? how many miles on it?

problem is I can t do it for a good few weeks at least. Im trying to repaint all rooms in my house and take care of some odds and ends so I can get it up for sale.

Chris or Bruce are good guys. I have a Crane compucam I had in my 87 IROC. If interested I can look up the spec's. I think it was like 214 / 465. I would have to look it up. it didn't have alot of miles on it. I had installed it with Dart11 heads and it was a bad combo. I pulled everything out and went with Lingenfelter heads, cam and induction system. For a lightly modded engine the compucam is good and works with the stock computer.

 

Give Kirk a call at APE, they are in Macomb County(HIS # in my SIG), tell him Andy sent ya, he'll beat that price, also ask him about tuning it with LS1edit.
