Broken Block Mount bolt.

Hey guys, Passenger side. The top right bolt that bolts the mount to the block is broken. Just picked up the engine from a salvage yard. Noticed there is a minor seperation to the right and left of the bolt as well in that little bung that it screws into.
Is this something to be concerned about? Or should I just drill the bitch out and put a new one in. I tried turning it out w/ vice grips but it just tore the threads off of what was sticking out.

Re: Broken Block Mount bolt.

try heating the block around the broken bolt with a propane torch. if that doesnt work, the only way to get it out is with an easy out. you gotta drill out the middle of the bolt and tap this tool in and when you turn it backwards it will bite in deeper and should turn out the bolt. key is to use the right size drill bit for the easy out your using (it usually says right on the bit what size to use) and heat the block around the bolt. and make SURE you drill in the center just in case you need to drill out the whole bolt.
