boycott Metropolitan Dental Center in Taylor, on Wick and Pardee

This is the final straw with me and these so called people. I'm so angry, I have to spread the word. I've been going to this dentist's office since I was 9, which was 20 years ago. I've never had a problem going to the dentist until about 8 years ago when I had an abscessed tooth and made an emergency appointment to have it taken care of. The Novocain didn't work, but instead of sending me home with a prescription for antibiotics or something, the Dr decided to pull the tooth anyway...without telling me about the decision. VERY PAINFULL!

I still went to the same place, but I didn't show up for a few appoints...(due to the unconscious fear I've had of the dentist)...which put me on their "red list". Eventually, I showed up for an appointment, (which is when I found out about this "red list"), and they informed me, (threatened me I should say), that they'll drop me as a patient if I no-show on another appointment.

I usually don't do too much arguing, so I didn't say much about that red list crap, but I still kept going to the same place...I mean, ya know I've been going there since I was a kid.

Then I had a tooth pulled a few years ago. They knew I didn't have dental insurance at the time, so they let me owe...not like I've ever not paid them. I've been doing it like that for a long time. Pay what I can, when I can. Anyway, after they pulled the tooth, I had an appointment made to have the stitch removed. Since I'm on the "red list" I kept the appointment and went down there. They asked if I had the 8 bucks I still owed on this extraction and I told them that It'd be a couple more days because I had to wait for the money. They told me to come back when I had the money and they'd remove the stitch! WTF?!?!? I squealed the tires all the way out of the parking lot, went home and pulled the damn stitch myself. I would've taken the stitch out myself anyway, but I HAD to keep that stupid appointment. That wasn't even the last straw.

Before I got dental insurance a couple years ago, I was having them call in prescriptions for penicillin whenever I had a bad tooth that made my face swell up. I don't have dental coverage now, so when my girlfriend's face swelled up yesterday from a bad tooth, I figured I'd call up the old dentist's office and have them call the pharmacy for me. The lady on the phone tells me, "we don't usually give out pills without an appointment". I thought to myself, "you've done it like 3 or 4 times for me in the past". Well she ended up saying she'd see about having that called in so I waited a few hours and called back. I asked if they prescription was ever called in and she told me I'd have to make an appointment before they could do anything for me...supposedly, since it's been so long since I've been to their office. Now I'm furious. So, I'm supposed to wait 2 to 3 weeks before I can get something prescribed that's going stop the infection. I can't even see straight I'm so pissed.

So I'm doing all this calling while I'm at work, pissed off, and trying not to get myself killed or anyone else in my work area. I get home and I see that my girlfriend's face is twice as swelled as it was when I went to work...she's got a black eye from it. NOW THIS WAS THE FINAL STRAW. Everyone must know about these terrible people over at Metropolitan Dental Center in Taylor, on Wick and Pardee.

If it wasn't for some antibiotics that a friend had, I'd be more worried than I am. They're kinda old, but they're not expired yet. I just hope the swelling goes down or I'm going to end up taking my girlfriend to the hospital.

Your post makes no sense.

1) If you miss appointments you call them. If you fear the dentist that's not their problem.

2) Anyone who gives you prescription stuff without seeing you must be super nice, because they are not supposed to do that. Get over it.

3) Don't have the 8 bucks. Sorry to hear that.

4) If your girlffriend's face swells up she should see a dentist. If you can't afford the dentist you might need to reassess your priorities we dont' get a third set of teeth in our thirties.

This is one of the most selfish and pointless threads I have ever read on here.

I'm with PSJ. I really don't see what your problem is. You missed appointments, and make late payments. Then you're upset that they won't do you a favor?
