Actually I kind of like it. Our margin is way up and we're really putting the hurt on Circuit and ABC who just cant compare, even though I hate Best Buy...worst job ever but I think its mainly the store.

Yes but for 2 old retired best buy veterans who started in 97 (me) and 98 (fuji) it sucks. We both left last year, and never look back. Fuji does, and then I smack him. It sucks for us mainly because we can't get sweet hookups on things. It would amaze you to see what kinds of equipment we have and how little we paid for them. Example- $100 flat screen sony tv's, and $500+ Yamaha receivers for even less. You don't even want to know what Fuji paid for a 52" Mitsubishi DLP, you would **** your pants. I wanted to get Scott (1BAD86Z) some sweet stuff for his basement but I can't get anything right now. I can't even get speakers for my car until D17 stops this stupid lockdown. I hate it!

And THIS is why I really hate Best Buy. Why do you give a flying frank about their margin!? Does it directly impact your pocket? (This isnt directed at you, don't take offense personally I've been in your position) Best Buy brainwashes its employees and pumps them full of this team spirit nonsense. It's a damn cult and I DARE anyone to try and prove me wrong. They get you into a state of mind that when the store is doing good and margin is up, you rock. Do you see any of it?! NO!!!! I have seen too many friends get way too pumped up for this ****, and worry about it wayyy too much. I have also seen way too many people who have been there for a very long time get screwed HARD by this company. Myself and Fuji included. But you know what? Best thing that ever happened to us was leaving! So much less stress! By the way, what store do you work at?

I completely agree with you. Best Buy does TRY to brain wash its employees with their meaningless bull**** (SOP, CARE+[what I despise most], LTS and whatever garbage they try and shove down our throats) I never do any of that crap anyway unless someone is watching. I like the whole not taking deals thing 1. I dont have to write anything up on a CPO because I'm lazy and I dont care 2. It helps filter out some of the undesirables 3. Margin is up so it doesnt matter as much if I dont sell because once again, I dont care. I would love nothing more than to screw the company hard, every greedy SOB at the top of the corporate ladder. They dont care about us on the bottom and the feeling is mutual but 10 fold on our parts. I cant wait to leave and I dream of that day but until then I collect my bi-weekly check and enjoy my discount while its there. I work at the Dearborn store on Southfield and Ford in the Car Audio department on the sales floor and as an MECP certified installer. I want to go out to Novi for the remainder of my stay to get away from the trash we get in our store with my best friend who may take the supervisor spot in the install bay. My other best friend works in the Dearborn bay with me but for some reason he doesnt care enough to leave. The majority of customers are fine, its the few that push me over the edge...especially in Car Audio.

Not sure if you know about the site but I think its called BestBuysux.com. Hilarious comments from former employees. I'm only staying long enough to learn what I can about mobile electronics and install.

Re: Block needed

Hehe Otzman is a good friend of mine, don't tell him how I feel though. Fuji and I both started at Novi, its a nice store but theres a few *******s. I actually grand opened that store in july of 97. I would rather work there or Westland than any other store in this god awful state. Best Buy in florida was so different, its alot more laid back. I miss working down there. I know what you mean on the customers that come into that store. You actually might know Fuji, he worked there for about a month at the end of last summer. He was the sales manager from westland that went to LP at your store.

Oh yeah. Umm... Fuji still needs a block.

Greg is the man, I really like him and dont worry I wont tell him lol. But yeah he's so much better than our old GM Jeff Lovasz who's at Southgate now. I've been at the store since last may and I'm sure I know Fuji, I know basically who everyone at the store is but I cant recall him.

Either way I hope he finds a block.
