I'm actually going to get the Mustang out this year so I want to hit a couple of the local hangouts.

So where is it going to be this year? Last I heard the ricers ruined Rogers Plaza and they also built a new 5th 3rd bank on the corner.

I honestly dont know. I went to Rogers Plaza twice last year, and it sucked. Stupid ricers are f*cking everything up. I know some of the older musclecar people were trying to get people down at Sonic, but they werent very successful. Besides that, Sonic is out of business now.

I bet the musclecar people start hanging out at Rogers plaza again, but maybe off to the side, or in back away from the ricers.

 

i'd probably go somewhere if there was somewhere to go without getting in trouble. too many morons. anyone got anywhere else besides the usual plaza or grand haven?

 

From the way it was last year,

Grand Haven = high schoolers
The Lot = Rice-fest 2K2

 

I went to the lot, I think, twice last year and it was pretty bad by the ricers. I got my valve stem covers stolen by some punk kids.

There was a hole group of VW/Saab/Volvo dorks that sat there and revved there motors all night. And then there was a super Kia trying to do burnout thru the parking lot.

Although, there are a couple of cool DSMers that hang out there.

A guy at work was telling me that on Thursday nights in Dor at some icecream shop there is a big car show. I also heard that on Fridays somewhere in Hudsonville a bunch of cars get together. Anybody ever been to either of those?

I've been to the Hudsonville one. Its in the parking lot between Gemmens and that little strip mall. Its "sponsored" by that 50's diner/ice cream shop. Its all famailes and old cars. Not like old muscle cars (there are some, but not a lot), old like 40s and 50s Fords and Mercs. And they usually close everything down by 10 or 10:30. After that the cops roll through and make you leave.

I'm still optimistic about hanging out at a different spot at the lot. Maybe off to the side, or maybe across the street at Rogers Dept. Store by that building that burned down. I really dont see any other place. I dont want to drive out to Dorr to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. The only other rumor out there that I heard was maybe over by Centerpointe mall by the old Fun Factory.

Grand Haven = high schoolers, mainly with mom or dads car acting as hard as they can. All you can do is laugh at them.

On a side note, I was out at grand haven tonight. I'd recommend going out there if you get a chance this week or possibly next weekend. Take a walk out to the end of the pier (preferably with chica). Theres some pretty good size pieces of ice floating around and most of the lake is still frozen / some big hills along the side of the pier. Pretty sweet lookin, esp. at sunset. If ya do, wear some boots or something with traction, you'll fall on you *** with regular shoes.

If the Chris both of you are referring to is me, my car is a red Cutlass Supreme Coupe. Tinted windows, yellow calipers and a DJCOBOL license plate. It cant be me you are seeing at GV, because I took this semeter off. I am registered for the next year though. Hooray! Only one left.

Side note: I'm getting a new Grand Valley license plate. What do you guys think about "6 YRS"?
